What is @pollination?

The harmony of two different communities. Butterflies and bees, both working for the same goal, albeit one has a bigger nest to tend to and manage.

With that in mind, I want you to imagine yourself as a bee, but not just any kind of bee, a honey bee! And, what do honey bees love? Nectar!

So now you love us, The Pollen Nation. Why? Because we turn that nectar from pollinating into honey for everyone!

If any of you have joined our Discord server, you will notice that a few different roles have been created. You will see The Pollen Nation witnesses, which are @sircork and @enginewitty. You will also see POLLINATORS, BUMBLE BEES and of course, HONEY BEES. As time goes on, I'm sure other roles will be added, but for now, let's explain what each of those are and how you can go about being a part.

Pollinators

There is this cat out there by the name of @yaziris that built a nifty contraption called @hivediscomod. (Loving it so far by the way, thanks @wesphilbin for cluing me in!) In our server, the pollinators are people that represent different communities or projects that are keen on getting great content pushed forward. This is a curation position that uses the discomod. If you would like to help with curating underappreciated content, please join us in The Pollen Nation and tag Cork or Witty!

Bumble Bees

This role has been assigned to those bee-you-tiful people that have generously donated an HP delegation to our curation account - @pollination. We are starting from ground zero and any help like that, we are very grateful for! It helps the pollinators give a bigger lift to those that are typically unseen, might need a boost and ones we want to retain on the blockchain because of their genuinely amazing posts.

Honey Bees

We all love honey! Well, we all love Hive, or else, why would you bee here? HA! So the honey bee role, is anyone we are familiar with or have seen out there on the chain. You can easily pick this role up by saying hello and telling us a little about yourself. Once you do, we have a special spot just for your posts!

To The Moon!

Props to @stickupboys for all their awesome gifs they continue to put out! Now, as a bee, it might be hard to fly all the way to the moon, but you know what? We're going to make it possible.

Whether we have to temper our wings or broaden our shoulders, we will do our best to get there. Regardless if we have to modify our own codes to allow us the ability to breathe in space, we will make it happen. Even if we have to wear some kind of crazy, futuristic temperature regulation suits! You guessed it, we totally will.

One of the biggest problems we see with this place, is the retention. We hear people say onboarding, onboarding, onboarding all day long, but no one wants to address the issue of retaining those users once they are here!

Communities like the HOC and Terminal are great at guiding noobies with useful and informative 'baby steps', and we want to do our part by making a serious effort to show them that we want them all here. Not just the big investors, not just the mega whales and not just the genius developers. But, everyone.

A hive is a whole and without all the pollinators, Bumble Bees, Honey Bees and even butterflies, it will succumb (eventually) to things like badgers and bears. So one of our mission objectives, is to spread that honey around and with the introduction of our curation station? It is now underway.
