Authentic Spirituality does not separate formal prayer and secular activities because the same Spirit is present and active in all of them.

A friend sent me this photo and quote in an email this morning.

It is very true.

When I am out on the water in the kayak I feel the Sprit of God very close, hovering over the waters.

And I am reminded of these words…

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light….

I think that being out in Nature, surrounded by the beauty of this planet gives pause … a moment to reflect on the incredible grandeur of His Creation.

We sit in awe, How great Thou Art … we give thanks for this precious moment in time. It is a form of prayer.

Prayer nourishes our soul in wonderful ways.

I learned that this Quote is from this Book :

13 Powerful Ways to Pray by Eamon Tobin

Where you'll discover thirteen of the most common ways to communicate with God. You'll also gain a deeper understanding of why prayer is essential to your life, how it comforts and transforms you, and what to do when it seems dry or difficult.

Some of the prayer methods suggested in this book can be easily incorporated into your everyday life, while others require taking time away from your normal activities to intentionally meet God in solitude. But the goal is always the same: connecting with God and learning to know him more intimately. When it comes to prayer, there's something here for everyone.
