When my wife told me that we would take the public transport to work in COVID19 times, I was almost going to say, "no way! I ain't going!" But somehow, something told me to go with her idea and take the train to work.
I spent the whole night reading before taking my ride to the office at 7 AM in the morning. When I got to the station, it was just the same amount of human traffic. The trains were as packed as they were during regular days, where capacity is close to maxed out if you were to consider social distancing being there. I saw some people who were too close to one another, and I did not have the nerve to say something to them to keep a further distance.
I took the LRT from Subang Jaya and MRT from KL Sentral to Bukit Bintang. All seemed to be expected other than people having to put on masks. The announcement for people to put on their masks came on at every station.
My lungs burnt quite a bit, and my tummy ached a little. I hope there is nothing to it other than being a little worried about what might happen to me taking the public transport as I was doing.
People on all trains were just acting normally. Nobody was panicking or frightened about anything. It was business as usual.
I guess taking the train to work isn't that bad an idea. We can exercise and keep fit now without going to the gym. I already have 23 minutes of exercise travelling from home to the office.
It will be 46 minutes of exercise once I travel back home on the train.
How wonderful life can still be in COVID19 times?
There was nothing to worry about at all.
The cases that once hit 31,000 are now down to 6,000+ new cases a day.
We are not out of the woods yet. But still, we are getting there, and that's a sigh of relief for all of us.
Still, I know that I have to be vigilant. Mask up. Social distancing and washing my hands when I have the chance.
