Long-time followers will be pining for the Weekly Zekely that hasn't happened for a month. They will also know how much adventure I pack into a post every week and appreciate the challenge I will have jam a full month of fun into a post without getting wordy. Let's see how I do.
In this edition, a full month of busy spring season after a few months of hibernation.
Monthly Zekely?
Doesn't really roll off the tongue so I will have to come up with a new title or get back to posting it weekly. This is the before picture to give you an idea how long a month is here up north.
This is the same trail around the corner from the first one in the same area of the dog park. Unbelievable how much green can grow in a warm spring month!
With either a walk in the nature preserve, a trip to dogwars or both every day, this has to be one of the most active and happy dogs around. That is a month well-spent.
On the Town
Looking back on the month's photos, I am reminded how much time I spend out and about in gatherings that would have been impossible a couple short weeks ago. This one is a private party to celebrate a classic restaurant that has been in business for 25 years. Older crowd of Bed & Breakfast proprietors and other business owners mostly. Neat place with cool snacks and solid drinks from the bar.
Next up was sold out Mother's Day brunch at Revival House. This was pretty special for reasons including how fancy the place is, the fact it is owned by a good friend, and Town Crier Marketing helped promote the event to sell out!
Amazing how this place transforms from cathedral scale dining room for family gatherings to dance hall filled with cool kids and friends behind the decks. Maybe your community needs more dance parties as much as this place does.
On the more formal side of things, the aforementioned Town Crier Marketing was nominated for a business excellence award and invited to a yearly gala attended by some of the most influential business owners in town. A room jammed with clients, friends and prospects made for a pretty good time!
What Else?
We got some brewing in too! About ready to drop are a new batch of Cream Ale and a sport hopped Session IPA. Something special about brewing your own, having it available on tap for Fridays at the office, and good #beerologist cred too. Love our brewing partners!
Golf!
Not @davedickeyyall style disc golf but fun just the same. Spring has sprung and we are lucky enough to have enough profit to splurge a little with a day on the course as a reward for our hard work. If we are able to keep it up and maintain the recent business progress, we might be able to make a regular thing out of Golf this year.
Solar Storm
More universally impressive than adventurous but the latest galactic ion storm sure made for some fireworks for most of North America when it crashed into our atmosphere. Relieved to not have experienced the communication and power grid disruption that had the potential to happen and just snap some cool pics of the sky
Good Food
So many of my friends order take out often. For me, battling inflation while trying to grow a business out of a global recession, take out is an expensive luxury! Every now and then, we splurge as the occasional reward and a purchase from a local restaurant who also happens to be a client Raja Fine Indian Cuisine. It is a win/win to support clients who support our business and every little backlink from a Hive blog post adds up for some sweet SEO value while we feast!
Gardening!
If you are just tuning in to the Zekely, and have managed to make it this far, I grow a garden on Hive! After a long winter of hibernation, spring brings a couple weeks of hard labour, reconstruction, cleaning prepping, planting and fortifying. You are spared from previous #gardenhive posts if you just tune in after now to see how I fare against weather, rodents and dogs as I strive to grow produce including the iconic and elusive pickle.
Headed for Summer!
See how I have failed to keep this post short and concise? Can you imagine all I have cut out to keep it even this length? All you have to know is spring has sproinged and you really should subscribe to the Weekly Zekely as I have a summer full of regional adventure in the chamber.
