It has been too long since the last Zekely Report but I am trying to hammer my schedule and distractions so I can get back to posting almost daily.

This edition would be 50,000 words long if I covered everything that happened since last month. So, I will pop a few pics in and try to be brief but elegantly impactful.

On the Last Episode...

January sure was a long year. Especially for me as I bravely conquered Dry January. Last Zekely, I was visiting my favourite brewery and preparing for a full month of winter without alcohol.

Oh it is definitely winter!

As I write this, it is -17 Celsius out there with the wind chill and apparently we are heading into a snow storm! This hasn't stopped me though because besides Dry January, a group of us have also been doing 100 push ups or squats every day, and I have gotten out almost daily to the dog park. A nice scarf and a dog that seems immune to the cold sure helps get you out when others are hibernating!



So much other fun stuff but volunteering with this fun Winterfest crew to hold a free community event for families across the region was pretty special. Love the Canadians who come out and enjoy the cold weather the way we did a s kids.

Dogs!

Speaking of dogs, good news! I got to visit some corgis! Cute little playful show dogs are irresistible and I sneezed the rest of the day.



There were hundreds of ribbons on the walls to show but I thought the fridge magnets were more fun for the blog.

SPORTS!

This one was taken the Sunday after Dry Jan was done. You would think I would have enjoyed a better beer than this but that is what they had on sale and it may be the January talking but I did not hate it! The local semi pro team pulled off a big win in this one and hockey is one of the best things about winter.



This winter has been the season of indoor golf. Since striking up a deal to help local indoor golf facility Fore Everyone Golf, we have enjoyed a round weekly and even took a few clients there for a little January celebration. It is equal parts golf and video game but a nice break in the winter and a way to keep our swing in shape for the spring!

Beer

When I mentioned Dry January, I didn't mean I would be without beer. I did cut it totally out during 90 % of the days but we stilled the alcohol out of a couple kegs of the Golden Ale we brew to help along the way. It was nice and refreshing, didn't quite taste like another as most of our other beers do, and was good enough to scratch that itch in a long month.



That same first weekend of Feb., we took our borrowed time and visited one of the local breweries for a treat.



My first real beer back was this Double Tesla DIPA and it packed a welcome punch!

Foreshadowing

Besides all that, I have to leave a few posts for the rest of the week if I am going to get back to daily Hive content creation. This is one I have in the pipe from last weekend. Any guesses what this is? Did we find an unlocked door and liberate a bunch of gamer chairs? You may have to tune in this week to find out.

January sure felt like a few long months for sure but we are through and this is sure shaping up to be an exciting year!
