This place I wanted to visit since a long time. It's a restaurant in Mumbai city which is considered to be a very unique one for its interiors. And because of its ultra luxurious interiors the price of the food also is luxurious :-) The name of this restaurant is Bastian at the top. There are 2 more outlets of this restaurant but they are not as fancy as this one. The other special thing about this place is the location, it's on the 45th floor of a commercial building which overlooks the Arabian sea. The best time to visit this place is during the sunset hour as you can get an obstructed view of the sunset through the wide window glasses. We had an occasion to celebrate so this place was ideal for it.
The complicated part of visiting this place is to get a seat. One can just not walk into this place. An advance reservation is must and the bookings open up 2 weeks in advance. Initially it was a month, when it newly opened up and trust me if you would not call on the first day itself then you would not get a place as it gets so full. It's been almost a year to the opening of this place and still it goes full.
I called them 2 weeks in advance, on the second day of the booking opening and yet I was put on hold, saying they would get back to me since they were fully booked. So I guess on the first day itself it got full. After 2 days they called me up saying that they can accommodate me. We were 4 of us and I was happy that finally I got the confirmation on the booking. There was an advance payment of 2000 Rs to be done per person, so by default you have to eat of that much else the money will go to waste. We were planning for dinner, and considering that the place is expensive we knew we would end up spending that much.
When I reached there and saw the place, I felt that the place did live up to the hype that has been created. I really loved the interiors and wanted to see it just once. For the first half and hour we were only clicking pictures in all poses and of the place. For a change even hubby and son joined me for the pictures, they are normally the grumpy ones when it comes to clicking pictures.....haha.

The lights, the fans, everything is fancy and unique about this place.
Coming to the flip side of this place, the interiors get 10/10 but the food scores very less. I did not enjoy the food much, for the hype it has I expected something very good, but it was very mediocre. The taste, the presentation, everything was just ok and not worth the price. Only the ambiance is something worth visiting for once to this place.
