Kim is a guitarist who recently started in the music world. Until recently she was a laundry worker, but when she met her husband Jon, things changed a lot. He is a guitarist too and little by little he started teaching her. When he came to see her, she also liked the guitar, so she left the laundry to dedicate herself completely to music with her husband. They often did small performances together and collaborated in many events. It was something magical, they loved each other very much and were inseparable. But unfortunately Jon contracted a strange disease that made it impossible for him to continue playing. According to the doctors, it was severe osteoarthritis, so his fingers were immobilized and for that reason he could not play the guitar.
So Kim had to continue the career she had already started on her own. It was a tough time because he was the one who had taught her to play and now she couldn't do it anymore. But of course this problem didn't affect the love they had for each other. She continued playing solo while he continued in the job that Kim used to have washing clothes in washing machines. We can practically say that the roles were reversed. In Kim's case, she slowly rose through the ranks. She started as an amateur guitarist until she got to where she is now, she is an experienced guitarist who has won multiple awards.
One day while she was at home helping her husband wash the clothes in the house and the other requests that people made for her to wash, someone knocked on the door of the house. It was a mailman, he said to her, "What a package they sent you." She laughed because she didn't know why he said that. Then the mailman explained to her that it was because they sent her a guitar in a package. She was then surprised because who was going to send that to her. So she thought that maybe it was some fan or something. The strange thing about the case is that on the package where the guitar came there was no address of the person who had sent that package. So it seemed a little suspicious to her. But anyway she took it and went into the house to examine that guitar in more detail.
She opened the box with some difficulty because, of course, she didn't have scissors at hand at the time and ended up using her keys. As they say, things never appear when you need them. When she finally managed to open the packaging she saw the guitar. To her surprise, not a new one, an old one, and the wood was very worn. But it was clearly visible that it was a very expensive guitar. She hoped that at least inside the house there was a note or something explaining the reason for the shipment. She knew that if a fan had sent it, they would have left a note, because they almost always want you to meet them and return a letter or something. So it made it even stranger. That's why she called some of her relatives to ask if any of them had sent it to her, but none of them did.
Then she asked Jon but he didn't know who could have sent it either. Well, since she couldn't find out who sent it, she had no choice but to remain in doubt. She decided that she wanted to play it to see how it sounded. And that's where she got the biggest surprise. The tuning pegs on the guitar were glued on. She thought someone had done it as a joke, but no. Because when she played the guitar it sounded great. What seems to have happened is that the previous owner who sent it to her wanted to make sure she didn't change that tuning, it's like he wanted her to play that way.
The sound was very clean and beautiful. She liked it so much that even if they changed the tuning, she wouldn't have done it. Shortly after, she started using this guitar in her concerts. She saw that it was much more successful, for some reason that special tuning was loved by everyone and almost any song played with this guitar was beautiful. Kim tried to replicate this tuning on her other guitars but they didn't look or sound the same. You could say that it was unique to that guitar. Now she understood why its previous owner glued the tuning pegs. All these details only increased her curiosity to know who this guitar belonged to or why it had been sent to her. In addition, this success that it was bringing her so far was very strange. Because of all this, she began a personal investigation.
On the back there was a small, worn bar code. She scanned it with her phone and realized that this code belonged to a guitar shop that had recently serviced it. That's when she saw the opportunity to find out who had sent it to her. So she immediately went there. The shop owner took one look at it and told her that this guitar had been through a lot of hands. That was obvious because, well, it was old. But then he mentioned something that made Kim more interested, "I think I saw this guitar years ago. A street musician had it. He said it brought him luck."
This left her with more questions than answers so she started searching the internet to see if she could find the answer. It turned out that it had been through a lot of different people, each with their own anecdote. A guy in the 80s who used it on his only decent tour before his band fell apart, a street musician who was the one the man at the workshop told her about, among many others. The interesting thing is that all these musicians after receiving the guitar had a lot of luck in their careers. It was all due to the special tuning of the guitar. She herself saw in her career that things were going better since she had it so it was true.
But why had they sent it to her? In an internet curiosity forum she discovered that behind this guitar there was a tradition. The tradition was that once you achieved fame with the guitar it had to be sent to another person who deserved this precious gift so that he could also go far. It was then that she understood that the guitar had been given to her because of her personality and her talent. Someone else saw in her what was needed to find the hidden story. Now when she became famous she would have to do the same. And just as they did with her she can't leave any clues as to who her previous owner was. That's how her story with the wandering guitar began.
