Shame...

A few months back the recycling bins in my neighborhood were removed because of some stupid folks who kept throwing rubbish like old water hoses, mattresses, baby car seats and furniture.

After a lot of effort, the local council managed to bring them back. They tried to convince the recycling company that it is our right to have those bins and keep recycling, those few ignorants should not deprive the rest of us of our right to try and do our best for the environment. We were given a second chance by the company and along with it a big rubbish bin to go next to the big blue bins so that the idiots would throw the real rubbish in it.

Guess what...

A few weeks ago the recycling bins were removed again, this time for good!

It seems that the people who carelessly threw things that did not belong in the recycling bins won. Their stupidity won. Their audacity won. Their denial to follow simple rules won. Their selfishness won.

And now I am supposed to collect all my recycling and drive 4 km to throw them in the recycling bins of the town, when I had them so close, just a stone's throw away from my house and I was able to get rid of my recycling whenever I left home in the car, as I would just make a quick stop, get out of the car, empty my recycling bags in the bin, get back in the car and be done with it in less than 30 seconds.

How cool is that! To face the consequences of other people's rude and careless behavior. At least I'm lucky that there is a big recycling bin right next to Trumpman's parents' house, so whenever we drop by, I can empty my recycling bags there.

But still... it is annoying and such people should learn their lesson eventually - karma, if you hear me, please do what you know best, thank you!.

This is such a disappointment. Looks like lack of opportunity does not outweigh the power of ignorace. Here in the Netherlands there are plenty of opportunities to recycle. I wouldn't say it is as bad here as in your post, but idiots are everywhere.

some people will never understand.

Of course because people are assholes. They ruin it for everyone.

People are always hard to teach and things hard to understand
