from the promotional material provided by ListNerds.
This is for people who have read 200% more views using ListNerds? and are thinking about using the free ListNerds subscription to grow the audience for their blog.
The free subscription provides:
- unlimited access to emails from other bloggers and their linked URLS
- one email a week to promote your blog
- up to four votes a week on emails from other creators
This post explores things to think about when subscribing, the next one will look at managing your inbox. Later posts will discuss sending your own email and the reward tokens (CTP, LISTNERD and MAIL) in ListNerds.
Subscribing to ListNerds
The first thing to think about is whether you want to sign up to ListNerds independently or using a referral link. There are pros and cons to both. Signing up with a referral link may mean you are part of a team and there is a lot of support, which could be helpful. On the other hand, you may prefer to be independent and find your own way.
1. Subscribe directly
You can subscribe directly to ListNerds by going straight to http://listnerds.com and selecting the FREE subscription when you get to that page.
Top tip: if you can, use the same user name on ListNerds as the Hive account that you want to promote. It is easier to get known and trusted with just the one identity.
2. Subscribe using a referral link
You will see referral links all over Hive, inviting you to subscribe to ListNerds. It is important to know that there are benefits to referrers when you subscribe using their link:
- they benefit when you read emails.
- they benefit if you decide to upgrade to a paid subscription.
Before you use a referral link, check out their Hive account and ask yourself these questions:
- is this a reputable person that I would want to be associated with?
- what are their plans and intentions towards about Hive?
- what support can they offer me on my ListNerds journey?
Have a look what their posts are like, how they engage, what's happening in their wallet, what other things are they involved in, are there any substantial downvotes removing rewards or any notices about plagiarism or other abuses on their posts.
If it isn't clear from their posts or the link itself, ask in a comment what support they offer. How can they help you to grow the audience for your blog? What are their thoughts about ListNerds?
And, in the end, do you feel comfortable working with this person?
If not, consider subscribing directly or have a look around for another referral link. Ask people you know and trust whether there is anyone they would recommend and then check that person.
3. Avoid the "one time only offer"
Somewhere during the process of subscribing, you will get a pop up with a one time only offer to pay for an upgraded subscription that provides increased features.
This post is about how you can use the FREE subscription to bring more people to your blog. So my suggestion is to ignore this one-time offer.
What's Next?
Once you've signed up, spend a little bit of time finding your way around the platform. Have a look at the DashBoard and explore some of the articles and videos. You could also join the CTP Discord group: https://discord.gg/kHEYKrk8 and find the #listnerds-general-chat channel.
The next post will look at managing your inbox.
