Recently while visiting a local supermarket we concluded that hens drive on oil... and eggs seem to be made of gold.
Anyways we rarely were buying eggs and we are not going to buy them at all.
My grocery list contains 56 items only, and we are 40 full - which means I strangulated it and the budget is holding.
We went shopping a total of 6 times only during the entire first half of July, including fresh greens shopping.
Greens can't last long in this heat and everything that can take a deep freezer is already stashed.
I didn't use any coupons but I found out that after 6 PM in one of the shops they offer " the scrap metal", or meat chunks that don't fit a store's picture-perfect shape - under a minuscule price of $1.34 per kilogram which is 2.5 times cheaper than our usual discount price and 7.5 times cheaper than the usual sale price for poultry fillets and beef steaks.

I cut cooking time in half to leave me more for other activities, and am teaching my teen daughter to help me with simple tasks.
We are done in twice less time and have fun together.
My daily task list exploded as I split it into numerous sub-categories and many of them include my kid and family. So, we spend a lot of time together even when the list is usually not completed.
The tortoise is doing great and the parrot is still crazy.
This week car repair was done at half price and then the same part decided to spontaneously combust. Nobody was harmed, besides a budget. A part partially melted like cheese after a few days' use and we still don't know what caused it. I would put my money on faulty production. Now the old part is in, and the car works just fine. Well...
The microwave we found in a dumpster works like a charm. It is a little on the slower side unlike my old one, but I like that. It will not boil food that I need to defrost.
During the week I also managed to drag an extremely fancy office chair padded with plushy pink fabric which lacked one of the rolls. We substituted a roll and now a kid fancies her new writing "nest".
