Let me fill you in on some interesting facts about the mushrooms or toadstools, as some would call them.Hhere are some too look at while reading. I collected these in the woods.

Did you know that mushrooms are fungi? Growing up, I always knew or was made to believe rather, that fungi and bacteria were germs, inedible, and I thought they were disease causing and should be avoided like plagues. Now I’ve had to modify that knowledge because it’s flawed. Fungi and bacteria have variations of the good, the bad and the ugly. So they are not in their entirety bad. Back to the context, #mushrooms #are #fungi and there are different types, serving different purposes. I came upon some mushrooms today and got the idea to spread a few words about them. Aha! I forgot to mention, they make really nice delicacies for vegetarians. You can go on to find out the whole lot I’ve left out for yourself. These are all set to prepare for dinner.

Now you know there are types of mushrooms, do you know about the variations? I suppose you know about the edible ones like shimeji, button, portobello, oyster mushrooms and so on. Aside from those, we also have some toxic mushrooms like death cap mushrooms, psychedelic mushrooms like Psilocybe cubensis(botanical name) and so on. Don't cook those!

The most interesting fact I just discovered and I’m itching to share is the dyeing property of mushrooms. They serve as very good textile dyes. As a matter of fact, before the existence of synthetic dyes mushrooms did the job. Wow, I know right?

The world of discovery awaits you, Winks.

Hi @oliviaava. It's nice to see someone who knows about fungi, which is rare nowadays. Many prefer to buy them from the supermarket, which is not entirely a bad thing as it's better than collecting those who are poisonous.

I see you're new on Hive and you posted this on your blog and not in any community, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. We have two fungi communities. One is Fungi Lovers, the other is FungiFriday, which is a community for a challenge. Please check them out and join if you think you'd like to post about shrooms in the future.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse!

Last, but not least, I see you haven't made a single comment on Hive :) It would be nice if you could reply to comment and also comment on other user's post as Hive is a social platform, engagement helps a lot to bring more visitors to your blog.

Let me know if you need help.

Wow. That is a lot! I just learned notifications. I will read your helpful links and ask you if I need something. Thank you.
