What's up plebs?!?!
This is the fourth installment of me participating in the Stackers Twelve Days of Christmas. As a reminder, this is a fun initiative by @silverd510 that anyone is welcome to join.
Here's the quick gist
Each day you post a gift that you would like to receive for Christmas. It needs to be precious metal related to qualify. The items can be something youβd like from our silvergoldstackers Secret Santa. Or they could also be something that you really truly wish was a possible gift. source
Don't forget to use the #silvergoldstackers tag if you decide to give it a go :D
So, yesterday we had the kiwi, my all time favorite bird!
Today I figured to share my all time favorite animal which also happens to be from around that place.
People who follow me over the years probably know that the animal in question is none other than the platypus!
But why is it my favorite? Cause it's just so damn weird! I mean it's a mammal. And yet it lays eggs. And it has the super power of electroreception like sharks do. And it's venomous! Each one of those properties is super rare in the group of mammals and yet this cute fucker has all of them! It even looks weird with that duck-billed face π
I could talk and talk about them all day long π
Anyways, let's get to the topic of silver!
There are plenty of silver coins featuring the creature but if I had to pick a favorite it's this 2013 half oz coin from a series called Australian Bush Babies:
It's by far the cutest depiction I have seen in a coin. Each piece goes for about 40 $ which I guess is not that bad for a half oz coin.
There's also another coin I really like although this one is not made of silver
Just a good ol standard circulation 20 cents coin from Australia ππ
And that concludes the fourth day of silver gifts i'd like to receive!
Nine more to go!
