Back with another silver beauty from Canada, this time a commemorative 1 $ coin from 1964 minted for the 100th Anniversary of Charlottetown & Quebec Conferences:
The Charlottetown and Québec conferences of 1864 were pivotal meetings that brought together influential political leaders of British North America and laid the groundwork for Canadian Confederation on 1 July 1867 source and more info
Not surprisingly, on the front side we have a young Queen Elizabeth..
The back is quite interesting featuring
the French fleur-de-lis, the Irish shamrock, the Scottish thistle, and the English rose.
At 23.33 g of 0.800 silver, this is a chunky boy with lots of symbolisms and stories to tell!
Here's a size comparison with the other Canadian pieces I have shared. A 1965 dollar and a 1966 50 cent:
And next to a euro coin..
Poor little fella, looks like Monopoly money 😂
Ok, time to put these sexy ladies back to their plastic jails! I touched them for today 😏
