in #solstice3 years ago

Today is the Winter Solstice. The Shortest , coldest darkest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere…. From this day forward each day gets more Light.

So Happy Winter Solstice … summer is on its way back already.

Let’s Party.

Only 6 months until summer !

There is always reason to be happy and hopeful and drink copious amounts of alcohol.

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere today is the Summer Solstice, the longest, sunniest, warmest day of the year and from this day forward you lose more and more light… you are headed for the depths of winter and darkness…. So enjoy your days of surfing while you still have the light.

The Winter Solstice marks the day with the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere), all thanks to the tilt of the earth. In many cultures, the day is a day of feasting and celebration, but even if you’re totally agnostic, you can still find a reason to rejoice, because after today, you’ll see gradually shorter nights and longer days, which means you can look forward to the emergence of spring.

Thank goodness ! It's about time !

I’m ready for longer days. Woo hoo.

This must be the truth of the Christmas tree

The Christmas trees goes back to Ashera … the wife of Yahweh. It’s in the Bible.

Biblical archaeologists have suggested that until the 6th century BC the Israelite peoples had household shrines, or at least figurines, of Asherah, which are strikingly common in the archaeological remains.
