why don't some talented instrumental musicians compose songs? [en-es]

One of the great pleasures of mankind is to listen to sounds that follow a rhythmic pattern, or following tonalities, combinations and dynamics, enliven feelings. It is something of a mystery why sounds are capable of such emotional feats, including the human inclination to create these works of artistic expression. It has an explanation, of course, but that's not what this article is about.

Surely you've all heard of Mozart. That child prodigy who demonstrated a great creative capacity for music in addition to great technique and skill. Of course, today's world is different from that time, but today there seem to be no Mozarts.

There are a considerable number of artists who, without a doubt, in technique equal those great interpreters, and I venture to say that perhaps some surpass them. In technique, they are a marvel, but in creativity, they are poor.

An interpreter is like a radio, they just repeat the music. That they add a unique touch is not denied, but they are just very skilled radios. Don't they have that creative itch? Do they just want to sing what others created centuries ago?

I listen to their masterful renditions that leave my eyes wide open about to pop out of their sockets, and what I think is, "whoever created that song is awesome." Of course I admire the magnificent ability of the interpreter, thanks to him or her we get to have that contact with the author, but not with them. Then, I have the thought: "I would like to listen to a song of this or that interpreter". But it is impossible because they only dedicate themselves to reproduce songs of others, and that they, in some cases, have millions of times more capacity to present more surprising or emotional songs.

I envy their excellent discipline and wonderful skills developed by years of practice, but I don't understand how they abandon their creative artistic expression, or maybe there's something I don't understand.

¿No tienen esa picazón creativa?
