Hi there Hivers and Splinterbuddies! Another Engagement Challenge for this week arrived and here i am again, yours truly to set you up on a valentine! I mean share some knowledge or experience playing splinterlands. Let's see what can I share to you guys for this round of Community challenge. Hmm. I am lost. Can you help me out? lol. Playing Splinterlands is not just battling it out or renting it your cards out to gain possible returns on your investment. But what if you are not that kind of player that usually have spare kind of money and need to throw away to something because your allergic to the money? Well, i can share something regarding that. What you need to do is become patient of course. You must know when will be the right time and have other alternatives to survive playing splinterlands. Well actually, this include other games in other blockchains. If you see whales that hated money that much and they bought too monsterfully powerful NFT's and fight those will make you become devastated and just leave the game what ever it is. So if you have that kind of attitude playing games in web3 blockchains, better think if it is still worth your time staying there. Or better have money to back it up if you want to become competitive.
Staying in splinterlands for about three and a half year now, i could say that i experienced plenty things of changes. The experience is wanting me quit to be honest. But I am still here so it means the fire lives on. I could say that i am a loyal poor player of splinterlands. hahaha. truth hurts. Anyways, these are some tricks that i used to stay in the game.
Market for Cards
Your buy and sell position is important in this regard. I find it amusing and entertaining how i bought a cheap card and sell it in a good profit to use to buy two cards then do the same process again with the cards I bought. Although i can say its a bit tricky now adays, it is still possible with patience and study the market needs. There are certain tools or 3rd party markets that can make your life easy doing this activity. For me, I am using Peakmonsters because i am already familiar with it but you can check other 3rd party markets too if you have time and might get the hang of it. So aside from buying and selling cards that are on the market, another source for this are reward cards that I am using for my selling/buying activities come from minted rebellion reward series that are currently in the distribution right now.

I site an example here regarding the chaos and rebellion rewards series that i currently trying to sell on the market. Take note, to gain something back, because there are certain fees in unlocking this cards, you have to be aware of the DEC vs USD before you post your cards to sell and try to check the fluctuation of the price as frequent as possible to not loose profits or losing your capital. Why am i selling cards? well, this is necessary for me to continue renting those cards that i am using then later gain rewards to trade again. Its a cycle. But its not that i am always selling what i claim, I am collecting what i prefer usable to battles.

This is how much to unbound a Gold Foil Epic Rebellion Reward Series right now. Expensive? Yes it is but this cards are good collections that are capable of bringing victory to your fights. Basically, when the cards are out of print, this will gain good price specially those cards that are always being used or META.
Tourneys, Guild Brawls and Ranked Battles

Tournaments, Guild Brawls and Ranked battles are the three main source of my Token Minting in splinterlands. Tournaments seem quite expensive on the first look but you can always choose the best suited at your current level. if you continue playing, you will see that you are being eligible to enter those tourneys. And to inform you, if you are active in tourneys and you thin your paying a steep price, here is a tip, enter those tournaments that are rewarding all entries because even with just consolation, you didn't waste your time! Trust me, its worth it! Guild Brawls and Ranked battles are of course rewarding as long as you win. Just complete the necessary requirements of course. So Card renting or ownership should be considered playing this battles and of course, you will earn your tokens and cards are also minted in here in the form of Gladius cases and Reward card series. And Guild Brawls require a just look for suited and active guilds out there.
- Splinterlands is still a play2earn game of blockchain to me. You just really need to explore and study it. Just don't treat it as a main source of income though. That's a bad way of thinking playing games if you ask me.
