Hello everyone! 😄

Today I’m going to talk about Chaos Knight for the Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge! To be honest, I usually don’t choose Life Splinter and when I do, I rarely pick Chaos Knight to be my Tank because there are better combos with other cards, such as: Lorna Shine/Tyrus Paladium + Silvershield Knight or Shieldbearer or General Sloane + Hero of Beyond. Besides that, sometimes I don’t even use a tank, putting Pelacor Conjurer (Magic Reflect) with Dax Paragon (Amplify) or Soul Fiend+Chaos Agent.

In other words: it is a very situational monster that can fit very well in specific Battle Rules Sets that I will describe below.

Hoje vou falar sobre o Chaos Knight para o Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge! Para ser honesto, eu normalmente não utilizo essa carta, pois há combos melhores, como: Lorna Shine/Tyrus Paladium + Silvershield Knight/Shieldbearer ou General Sloane + Hero of Beyond. Além disso, às vezes nem uso Tank colocando Pelacor Conjurer (Magic Reflect) com Dax Paragon (Amplify) ou Soul Fiend+Chaos Agent.

Em outras palavras: é um monstro bem situacional que se encaixa bem em algumas Regras de Batalhas específicas que irei descrever logo abaixo.

Chaos Knight

Let's take a quick look on her atributes/abilities and usability.

Strengths: Good Damage (2⚔️) and decent armor (3🛡) since Level 1. Good counter against heavy melee strategy, such as: Fire Deck (Tarsa + Melee Monsters) or even against Mylor Crowling (Thorns) due to her Shield Ability.

Weakness: The Biggest problems of this monster are the low HP (4 ❤️) and Low Speed (2 👢) at Level 1, altough she has Shield ability, Magic attacks will still be able to kill her pretty quickly. Moreover, I think the Mana cost x benefit isn't good at all for 6 Mana.

Forças: Bom dano (2⚔️) e armadura decente (3🛡) desde o Level 1. Boa defesa contra estratégias de dano corpo a corpo, como: Deck de Fogo (Tarsa + Monstros corpo a corpo) ou até mesmo contra Mylor Crowling (Espinhos) pela habilidade de Escudo que ela possui.

Fraquezas: Os maiores problemas desse monstro são o baixo HP (4 ❤️) e baixa velocidade (2 👢) no Level 1, embora tenha a habilidade Escudo, danos mágicos ainda vão conseguir matá-la rapidamente. Além disso, eu acredito que o custo x benefício por 6 de Mana não é nada bom.


Battle Rule Sets

Good Choice: Aim True (Slow Speed won't be a problem to hit the Target); Lost Magic (The opponent can hit only with Melee or Ranged monsters becoming very hard to kill her if she still receives some support such as Repair or Tank Heal); Weak Magic; Super Sneak; Equal Opportunity and Earthquake.

Boa Escolha: Aim True (Baixa Velocidade não será problema para acertar o alvo); Lost Magic (O adversário só poderá atacar com dano Corpo a Corpo ou à Distância tornando-a muito difícil de matar se ela ainda receber ajuda de habilidades como Reparar ou Cura); Weak Magic; Super Sneak, Equal Opportunity e Earthquake.

Position: I think the best positions to use are 1, 2 (In Equal Opportunity or as a second Tank) or 6 (on Super Sneak).

Posição: As melhores posições para colocar são: 1, 2 (Em Equal Opportunity ou como Tank secundário) ou 6 (em Super Sneak).

Counters: Monsters with Magic, Blind, Demoralize and Shatter.

Contra-Ataque: Monstros com Dano Mágico, habilidade Blind, Demoralize e Shatter.

The Battle!

I had to choose between two battles: one with a Good Combination+Positioning with a flawless victory (6x0) or one that I forced the combination to put the Chaos Knight with a more surprising end and hard to predict the result. Well, I chose the latter one!

Eu tive que escolher entre duas batalhas: uma que eu coloquei uma boa combinação+posicionamento conseguindo uma vitória perfeita (6x0) ou uma que eu forcei a combinação colocando o Chaos Knight com um final mais surpreendente e difícil de prever o resultado. Bem, eu escolhi a segunda opção!

In this Match, only Fire, Earth, Life and Death splinters were available with 46 Mana Cap + Broken Arrows (No Monster with Ranged was available) and Healed Out (No Type of Healing was allowed)

Nessa Batalha somente Splinters de Fogo, Terra, Vida e Morte estavam disponíveis com 46 Mana Cap + Broken Arrows (Nenhum monstro à Distância disponível) e Healed Out (Nenhum tipo de cura permitido).

The Strategy/Lineup

Summoner: I thought that the +1 Armor of Tyrus Paladium would be very important in a High Mana Battle taking into account that the mages have 0 armor (Time Mage and Adelade).

The Main Tank: Legionnaire Alvar was picked because I was pretty sure that my opponent would pick some Magic Monsters since there were no Ranged Units available. Furthermore, in high Mana Cap it was very likely that he could choose a monster that would fit as a Giant Monster (10+ Mana) such as Grum Flameblade, Magnor, Dark Ha'on or Uriel The Purifier.

Secondary Tank: Chaos Knight!To be honest, I didn't think it was the best idea, but at least she would survive a little bit longer against heavy melee strategy.

Position 3: Sand Worm, a monster with good damage to kill the backline.

Position 4 and 5: Life units in general are very slow, so Time Mage helps in this matter. Adelade Brightwing would be a good support for the two tanks repairing and dealing damage as well.

Position 6: Shieldbearer was the distraction with Taunt, so the mages wouldn't be targeted.

Invocador: Eu acreditava que o +1 de Armor do Tyrus Paladium seria bastante importante numa batalha de Mana Cap alto, levando em conta que os Magos tem zero de armadura (Time Mage e Adelade).

Tank Principal: Legionnaire Alvar foi escolhido, porque eu estava bastante confiante de que meu oponente iria escolher Monstros com Dano Mágico já que unidades com ataque a distância não estavam disponíveis. Ademais, em batalha com Mana Cap alta era bem capaz dele escolher monstros que se encaixariam como Monstro Gigante (10+ Mana) como o Grum, Magnor, Dark Ha'on e Uriel.

Tank Secundário: Chaos Knight! Para ser sincero, não achava que seria a melhor estratégia, mas pelo menos ela iria sobreviver um pouco mais contra uma estratégia de corpo a corpo pesado.

Posição 3: Sand Worm, um monstro com bom dano para destruir a linha de trás.

Posições 4 e 5: As unidades de Vida geralemnte são devagar, então Time Mage ajudaria nesse quesito. Adelade Brightwing seria um bom suporte para os dois tanques reparando a armadura e causando dano também.

Posição 6: Shieldbearer era a distração com Taunt, assim os magos não seriam atacados.

Before the end of the 2nd round I had already lost Shieldbearer and didn't kill a single monster of the opponent. In the 3rd round everything stayed the same (5 vs 6)

In the end of the 4th Round I thought everything was lost, Legionnaire, Chaos Knight and Adelade was killed and the opponent still had 4 monsters against 2 of mine. So, I clicked on "Skip To Results" and I noticed that I won the battle. I was like "Wait, what???". Then I watched the replay and understood what happened.

Antes do final do 2° Turno eu já havia perdido o Shieldbearer e não tinha matado sequer um monster do oponente. No 3° Turno as coisas continuaram iguais (5 vs 6)

No final do 4° Turno já havia perdido as esperanças, Legionnaire, Chaos Knight e Adelade foram mortos e o adversário ainda tinha 4 monstros contra 2 meus. Então, cliquei em "Pular para os resultados" e percebi que tinha vencido a batalha. Eu fiquei "O queeee, como?!". Então assisti o Replay e entendi o que aconteceu.

In the beginning of the 5th round Time Mage killed Boogeyman making the disavantage to 2 vs 3 and Sand Worm of the opponent missed the attack on Time Mage! While mine ended with Undead Priest.

In round 7 Time Mage finished with Life Sapper and I finally had the edge in numbers: 2x1! My 1 Armor allowed Sand Worm to survive against the attack in Round 8 and the rest you can watch in the replay!

No início do 5° Turno Time Mage matou o Boogey Man diminuindo a desvantagem para 2 vs 3 .

No 7° Turno Time Mage acabou com o Life Sapper e finalmente estávamos em vantagem em relação a números: 2x1! Meu 1 de armor permitiu que meu Sand Worm sobrevivesse ao ataque no Turno 8 e o resto é história!
