BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! »»»»Fire & Regret»»»»

in #splinterlandslast year

Hello Splinterfam and fellow Hivians...
I hope this entry finds you all in great shape and in great condition as well.

It has been a while since I last posted or took a challenge due to work-related issue...like not having a stable internet connection being in the middle of the sea...😂😂😂

Now that I am in one of the Philippine Ports I will make sure to post atleast one...and the current Battle Mage Secret challenge I am going unveil to you is one tacking the Ruleset: RETURN FIRERETURN.png wherein using Ranged attack type monsters to battle an enemy will also inflict damages to that monster itself. It doesn't mean that Ranged attack type monsters cannot be used in this battle. Sure, they can be used...and I have encountered too many a battle with rulesets RETURN FIRE and GOING THE DISTANCE being applied at the same time.

The safest and most proven way, if allowed, to face this RETURN FIRE ruleset is to use a Magic attack type monster as your main attacking or damage dealer monster. And that is what I will show you in this match.

Remember though the battle is fought in a low tier league so no fancy attacks and abilities...only the base abilities will be witnessed. My apologies in that regards😅😅😅

RETURN.pngAll units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.

Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage.

»»»»SUMMONER: BORTUS»»»»

bortus.png
I picked this summoner because I anticipated the opponent will be using magic attack type monster as his Tank or main damage dealer. This monster, when deployed in the battlefield, will de-buff the enemy magic attackers with one unit magic. Choosing the summoner can either make or break the game. The right summoner can help a battle mage in drawing that fine line between losing and winning.

»»»»HARDY STONEFISH»»»»

I placed this monster in the 1st Slot because I intended it to be a sacrificial pawn or diversion for the opponent's magic attackers to protect my main damage dealer. This being in front will spare my DJINN OSHANNUS from being attacked upfront. Also, if, in case the opposing side chose melee attack type monsters, which seems farfetched due to limited mana, available splinters and tier we are in, choosing this monster and placing it in front will likely help me in at least reducing its health point a little.

This monster is chosen and placed in the 2nd Slot bearing the same faith as the 1st Slot monster. It also served as the sacrificial pawn for this battle. Although I was hoping it could at least have a chance to attack the enemy monster and gave it a little bruise😅

This monster is my main damage dealer. With VOID ability, this monster will best counter any magic attacker since its tough against any magic attacks. Killing it with magic alone shall prove to be arduous task especially if a healer is around. The enemy had to have a powerful magic monster to be able to damage its health point, thanks to its VOID ability.

»»»»MERDAALI GUARDIAN»»»»

I picked this monster to support my main damage dealer when it's in front fighting the heated battle. A healer in a battle with limited mana can go a long way and can also be the deciding factor between winning and losing...

As I have expected, the opponent chose a Water Splinter with KELYA FRENDUL as the summoner. Behind it was the tough nut DJINN OSHANNUS with MERDAALI GUARDIAN as its healer and support. In a way, we have the same line up. I'm only able to save one mana because I chose a 3-mana summoner. I also have the 0-mana monster at my disposal so my line-up slightly outnumbered the opponent.

The round started with an attack from the opponent since their monster was faster. The enemy immediately eliminated my two sacrificial pawns in two turns. Immediately the battle was left in the hands of both DJINN OSHANNUS and MERDAALI GUARDIAN on each side.

Each side gave its all to defeat the other but to no avail. The damage received is too minimal, besides there is a support healer so the damaged received, if any, was immediately healed. The monotonous exchange of magic blows went on until
the exhausting Round 20.

When the Round 20 ended and the next round started, the fatigue from long battle kicked in...All monsters in the field received damages directly reducing their health points.
Observe how the damages received from fatigue is increased in the succeeding round resulting in the demise of the healers.

Now that both healers are gone, it is now a one on one brawl between the tough monsters. Luckily I chose a summoner that de-buffed the enemy's power rendering its attacks useless. The only thing that can damage my Tank is the fatigue from such a long-drawn battle.

The fatigues kept kicking in and my Tank's attack slowly but surely chipped-off the life force of the enemy.
Soon after, the one that finally killed the enemy monster is the fatigue. My Tank's attack did its part in reducing the the enemy's health points to the point that I slightly gained an advantage while having the fatigue do its job of delivering the final blow.

I was right in choosing to utilize a summoner that will de-buff the enemy magic attacker. I have expected the opponent to go and use magic monster as main damage dealer so countering it with BORTUS is the wiser option. the opponent battle mage chose a summoner that buffed his monsters with shield and speed but it proved useless in the long-drawn and exhausting match since the buffs his monsters received didn't help in battling against mine.

In the end I came victorious. My heartfelt gratitude to the fatigue for coming in and helping in the battle..🤣🤣🤣.
