Today I'm going to talk about Lava Spider, a card from the chaos legion edition that belongs to the fire deck, but I think that you can already tell by the name alone.
Lava Spider has a 3 mana cost, 1 ranged attack, 2 speed and 4 health at level 1, in addition it has the snipe ability, since it is a fire deck card so a good choice would be the summoner Yodin that gives +1 ranged attack to the cards and the blast skill which is quite useful with snipe skill.
Snipe - Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
At higher levels Lava Spider has other abilities like Snare and Poison.
Snare - When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss those currently with flying. Can still miss monsters without flying or monsters that already have been snared.
Poison - Attacks have a chance (50%) to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. Poison does 2 damage each end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.
But from my point of view it is a card that has low damage and the poison ability that would compensate for that is only activated at level 10 so you could only use it in diamond league or above, but if you use it in below diamond leagues I think it would only compensate with Yodin as she would have more utility besides having a low mana cost which is a positive point.
In the battle I'm going to show you I tried to get the most out of the card and its snipe ability, see how it turned out.
As I mentioned before that Yodin was a good combination for this card as it would show its full potential so it was the summoner that I chose for this battle, despite having a high mana cost, its abilities are very useful and the fact of Lava Spider having a low mana cost makes up for this.
On the front line I used the Grum Flameblade card and despite being released recently it is already a card that proves to be very useful in battle and with its bloodlust ability that allows you to gain +1 to all attributes when a monster is defeated is something incredibly strong with Yodin's blast ability, the damage of this combo is terrifying but both cards have a very high mana cost so it's not every time you get the opportunity to use it.
I also used Lava Launcher which is a card with a ranged attack that has the ability close range that allows you to attack in the first position and since it has a good defense so it is a good option in the front line.
In third position I put Spark Pixies, since all the other cards have ranged attack to maximize what Yodin offers so it's a good idea to put it in third position since it has the fly ability so it will dodge some attacks before being defeated , but until then it will do a lot of damage as the front line is pretty strong.
Then we have the Ferexia General and from here the real attack of the team starts since all the cards after that will have the snipe ability so the enemy cards behind will take a lot of damage thanks to that.
In fifth position we have Mantoid who also has the snipe ability and both he and Ferexia General have 2 damage that will become 3 thanks to Yodin so the cards hit by them did +2 damage to nearby cards with the blast ability.
And finally we have the Lava Spider that has the lowest damage of the team but as it has a good amount of health so it can withstand some enemy attacks coming from behind, in addition with the snipe skill it will do a lot of damage along with Ferexia General and the Mantoid.
But let's see them in action in battle.
My last 3 cards will bomb the enemy back line so they won't last long as my offensive power is quite high and meanwhile the first 3 cards will bomb the front line.
And thanks to Grum Flameblade's bloodlust ability it becomes practically untouchable because in addition to always increasing its damage when a card is defeated it also gains +1 shield so this card is a true monster on the battlefield.
And as you can see watching the full battle, despite being a battle with a very high mana cost it only lasted 2 rounds so it's an extremely strong combination that you can play in bronze and silver without fear and maybe even in gold and in addition its cost is not so high.
This is my battle of the week, I hope to see you next week.
