Soulkeep, the upcoming midcore RPG action game from Double Coconut, is set to release in May, according to a recent company update from David. The game puts players in the shoes of a young woman who must save souls from the evil queen and her minions by using towers to stop them from approaching. The protagonist is not a character, but players will be able to play as Selene, the archer hero who engages in melee combat on the battlefield.
The closed beta for the game features 12 levels, and those who have purchased 500 packs will have access to it. Packs can be opened once the game launches, and some parts of the game will be free to play. Double Coconut is also planning to introduce staking of Splinterlands cards for more opportunities to earn SPS and potions, as well as Soul Fiend tokens that can level up NFTs and unlock leagues.
Words with Wizards, the popular guild management tool for Splinterlands, is getting a quality of life improvement with the introduction of a guild mailbox screen. This feature will make it easier for guild leaders to manage join requests and invites, and will be expanded in the future to include other types of notifications. Double Coconut is also planning to introduce additional guild buildings in the near future.
Splinterlands TV is hosting Ape-In April, a special event featuring 2,000 Vruz up for grabs, as well as 100 Gold Foil Vruz.
Surveying of Land Deeds Coming to Splinterlands
This past Tuesday, Splinterlands has added a new feature that will allow players to survey their land deeds and find out more about the plots they own. Surveying 100 plots at once guarantees minimum rarities for each plot, and players must select any survey boosts beforehand, as they cannot be added later. The new feature is part of Splinterlands' ongoing tech modernization efforts.

While this partnership appears to be successful in attracting new players to the game, there is a potential downside to the free spellbook code giveaway. Some members of the community have reported that certain individuals may have taken advantage of the offer by creating multiple email accounts to claim more codes for their own benefit, which could mean that the giveaway did not actually attract new players but rather the same individuals multiple times.
