I experienced really weird ranked games today. 5 out of 20 battles all have the Explosive Weaponry battle rule set, in which I won 3 out of these 5 battles. Come join me as we look into these battle analyses.
RULE SET AND ABILITY
ICON | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY Game rule set that provides ALL monsters with the Blast Ability. | |
BLAST Ability that does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage/2 rounded up. Snipe works well with this ability. |
BATTLES
BATTLE #1: Win
Rule Set: Explosive Weaponry
See Battle Link here!
Line Up: Fire
CARD | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Rare TARSA the go to summoner for Fire Splinter. It provides additional 1 Melee attack to Melee monsters, and additional 1 Health for ALL allied monsters. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Common ANTOID PLATOON is one of the go to tank monsters for Fire Splinter. It has Shield Ability which allows it to reduce the Melee and Ranged damages. It's low mana capacity also makes it a good tank for low mana battles. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Common RADIATED BRUTE may have low Speed but it's 2 melee attack and low mana capacity makes it a good addition to our line up. It also has Reach Ability allowing it to attack from 2nd position even if it is a Melee monster. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Common SERPENTINE SPY a Fire monster with Opportunity Ability allowing it to attack from any position, and target the enemy monster with lowest health. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Rare TENYII STRIKER is also a go to monster for Fire line up. It has 2 Melee Attack and 2 Speed which matches its Sneak ability, allowing it to target the last moster in the enemy lineup. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Legendary SCORCH FIEND belongs to the 0 mana Fiend monsters. It makes use of the line up space taking up 0 mana. It can be a bait in the 1st or 2nd position, or additional lineup hero for low mana battles. |
Battle Analysis:
I won this battle because I maximized the low mana capacity requirement of the battle. Usually in Bronze league, low mana lineups will automatically use Fire Splinter lineup since most of it's monsters only has low mana requirement but has higher speed and damage. And since the heroes I chose have Sneak and Opportunity abilities, the back line monsters of the enemy were targeted first, with additional adjacent damage as well from the Blast ability because of the Explosive Weaponry rule set.
BATTLE #2: Win
Rule Set: Explosive Weaponry and Spreading Fury

Line Up: Fire

ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Common LAVA SPIDER is a low mana Ranged attack monster with Snipe ability which allows it to target Ranged and Magic enemy monters that are not in the first position. With the Blast ability, it deals more damage in enemy backline monsters. | |
Again, I used the Fire Splinter lineup since most of it's monsters only has low mana requirement but has higher speed and damage. I chose monsters with Shield, Sneak, Opportunity and Snipe abilities since I anticipated that the enemy will also pick this kind of line up. As you can see, the back line monsters of the enemy were targeted first, with additional adjacent damage as well from the Blast ability because of the Explosive Weaponry rule set, and the enemy was left with Living Lava monster in the end.
BATTLE #3: Lose
Rule Set: Close Range and Explosive Weaponry
See Battle Link here!
Line Up: Life
CARD | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare GENERAL SLOAN is usually the go to summoner for Life Splinter especially for Close Range rule set. It provides additional 1 Ranged attack for ALL allied Ranged monsters. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Common CHAOS KNIGHT is also one of my go to tank monsters for Life Splinter. It has Shield Ability which allows it to reduce the Melee and Ranged damages, which suits the rule set. It's low mana capacity also makes it a good tank for low mana battles. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare TIME MAGE has Magic attack and Slow ability allowing it to reduce the speed of all enemy monsters. It should allow us with better chance of attacking first. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare PELACOR ARBALEST was expected to be the main damage dealer of our lineup. It's Ranged attack is amplified by the Double Strike ability allowing it to attack twice per round. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Rare VENARI CRYSTALSMITH is a Ranged attack monster with Tank Heal ability which makes it our healer for this lineup. | |
ELEMENT: Neutral RARITY: Common MANTOID is a Ranged attack monster from Neutral unit. It has Snipe ability which allows it to attack Ranged and Magic attack enemy monsters that are not in the 1st position. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare CELESTIAL HARPY is a Melee attack monster from Life unit. It has Opportunity ability allowing it to attack enemy monster with lowest health. |
Battle Analysis:
It's sad that I lost this battle. I was expecting General Sloan as a appropriate summoner for the rule set due to its additional Ranged attack. I focused on the additional damage, not on the health of the monsters. I also failed to consider possibilities of the opponent using Melee monsters with Opportunity ability that can easily penetrate the backline monsters, and the damage because of the Blast ability. Yes, I have Celestial Harpy but I put it in the end despite of low health.
BATTLE #4: Win
Rule Set: Explosive Weaponry and Holy Protection
See Battle Link here!
Line Up: Life
CARD | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare MOTHER KHALA is the better starter summoner for me in Life Splinter. It provides additional 1 Health for ALL allied monsters. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Legendary URIEL THE PURIFIER is one of the strongest Life Splinter Legendary monster. It has Flying Ability which grants it chances to evade Melee or Ranged attacks from enemy monsters without Flying ability, and Recharge ability which allows it to attack every othe round, but with 3x damage. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Epic PRISMOLOGIST is a Life Splinter Ranged monster with 3 damage and Blast ability. It's Blast ability may seem redundant with the rule set, but I considered it because of its higher damage. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Legendary ADELADE BRIGHTWING is an Magic attack monster with both Flying and Repair abilities which grants it chances to evade Melee or Ranged attacks from enemy monsters without Flying ability, and allows it to restore some armor to allied monster with most taken damage, respectively. | |
ELEMENT: Fire RARITY: Rare VENARI CRYSTALSMITH is a Ranged attack monster with Tank Heal ability which makes it our healer for this lineup. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Epic DJINN RENOVA is a Magic attack monster from Life unit. It has Strengthen ability which provides additional Health to allied monsters. | |
ELEMENT: Life RARITY: Rare SHIELDBEARER is a Melee attack monster from Life unit but I placed it in the last because of its Taunt ability which will soakup all the damage until its armor and life are out. |
Battle Analysis:
I pretty much won this battle because of proper positioning and having a healer and armor repair. First, Shieldbreaker was put in the last position so all the initial attacks of enemy heroes will bbe directed to it until its armor and health worns out. Next, I made sure to put the healer and armor repair monsters in the middle to keep them protected from Blast. Lastly, I chose a tank monster with large health, armor and damage, making Uriel a good one. It was also properly supported with Adelad Brightwing and Venari Crystalsmith making it last the battle.
BATTLE #5: Lost
Rule Set: Explosive Weaponry and Spreading Fury
See Battle Link here!
Line Up: Earth
CARD | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Rare MYLOR CROWLING is usual Earth summoner pick for Bronze league. It provides Thorns ability to ALL allied monsters at the start of the battle which allows them to damage back when hit by a Melee attack. | |
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Rare MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN is a Earth Splinter with Taunt ability. This ability makes it a good tank monster since it also has large health. | |
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Common FAILED SUMMONER does not have any damage, but it has Magic Reflect ability enabling it to return reduced magic damage to the attacker making it good 2nd tank. | |
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Legendary FUNGUS FIEND is a Melee monster from the Fiend monsters. It served as additional card to occupy of the lineup space. | |
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Rare UNICORN MUSTANG is the main lineup tank due to its Void ability which will lessen the Magic damage. | |
ELEMENT: Earth RARITY: Common GOBLIN PSYCHIC is a Magic attack monster from Earth unit. It has Tank Heal ability which makes it the main healer of our lineup. | |
ELEMENT: Neutral RARITY: Legendary DOCTOR BLIGHT is a Magic attack monster from Neutral unit with Affliction and Camouflage abilities. The first allows the monster to cause affliction to enemy monster where it will be unable to heal if hit. The latter makes the monster not targettable unless in 1st position. |
Battle Analysis:
I lost this battle because of 2 mistakes: (1) I forgot to rent Mushroom Seer. Mushroom Seer is a Earth monster that has Silence ability which lessens the enemy monsters' Magic attack. I always rent it but for some reason, forgot before playing rank. It is a good counter for Magic lineup together with Unicorn Mustang. (2) Wrong positioning. I should have put the Mycelic Slipspawn in the last position since there is additional Blast ability due to the rule set. Unicorn Mustang should have been in 1st position since it is Melee moster, followed by Failed Summoner.
Soooo, there you have it. What can you say about this blog? How can I improve? Please let me know.
Until next post! Byeeee!
