Today I will show a battle with the Chaos Knight card and see if he really is a good choice a good choice to have by your side.
If you don't know it yet then know that it is a common card from the chaos legion edition of the life deck, in addition it is a card with a melee type attack and that is usually used in the first position as a defensive card, its speed is not very high and neither is his health but the fact that he doesn't have a lot of health is compensated for by the amount of shield he has, so this makes him a great choice for defense even though he has low health.
This is the basic part of a card that you need to know but you can already see that it is a good card and its mana cost is 6 which is not that high and makes it usable in many battles. Now let's talk about your abilities.
As shown in the image, Chaos Knight has 3 skills but some only appear at certain levels, I won't talk about the card level system because you should already know so I'll go straight to talk about your abilities.
The Shield ability is a defensive ability that causes the card that has it to receive reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks, more specifically the damage is reduced by half, but when the number is broken then the value is rounded up, one example for this would be an attack 3 so the half would be 1.5 but there is no such damage in splinterlands so the value becomes 2, there is also an exception that is when the attack value is 1 then the damage would be 0.5 and it would pass to be 1 as it rounds up but the value will be 0 and this is the only exception to this ability.
The Giant Killer ability is an attack skill that does double damage on cards with 10 or more mana cost, it's a new skill and I don't see much in battle but I believe that in the right battle it should be very useful.
The Inspire ability is a party skill and it makes allied melee cards gain +1 attack, so it's a good skill to have if your team has melee cards other than Chaos Knight.
Cards chosen for battle:
As a summoner I chose Mother Khala which grants +1 health to all allied cards and she will be very useful in this battle because there is the Noxious Fumes Rule so having more health is always important for this rule.
In the first position is Chaos Knight and he will be the defensive card for this battle, but unfortunately he has low health so it's not a very good thing in the Noxious Fumes rule and besides my opponent has a lot of magic cards.
In the second position I put the Luminous Eagle which will also be a defensive card, but it has a good attack and speed, in addition it has the Reach skill that makes it able to attack from the second position and the Fly skill that makes it difficult for enemy cards who don't have that ability to hit it.
In the third position I put Defender of Truth which is a card with magic attack and has the Protect ability that gives +2 shield to all allied cards, but its greatest use in this battle will be to deal damage because the shield is useless against cards with magic attack, but it will still be useful against the opponent's melee card.
In fourth position I put Thunderbird which is a ranged card with the ability Fly and its function will be to deal damage and thanks to Mother Khala it will have 5 health which is enough to survive for at least 2 turns in the Noxious Fumes rule .
In fifth position I put the Venari Crystalsmith which will have an important role in this battle which is its Tank Heal skill that will heal the card in the first position and this is very important for the cards to stay longer on the battlefield and also to survive Noxious Fumes rule.
In this battle I have the disadvantage because my main defensive card is weak against magic attacks, but the enemy cards have low speed which will be very important for my Venari Crystalsmith to get into action and heal the card in the first position before all the others. enemy cards attack and that made my Chaos Knight survive the first round and as I have the summoner Mother Khala so my cards have a good amount of life and enemy cards don't have that advantage.
Unfortunately my Chaos Knight will be defeated by the poison of the Noxious Fumes rule but I still have the Luminous Eagle to defend and it still has a lot of life, besides being able to defeat the card with the highest health of my opponent and the one that would be the biggest problem for this battle so there are only low health cards left for him and that will be a huge advantage for me and I still have the cure from Venari Crystalsmith, so I believe it will be an uphill battle for my opponent in this situation.
And at the end of round 2 the battle was over and even though I lost Chaos Knight because he was at a lot of disadvantage because of the rule and my opponent's magic cards I still had solid defense and healing so his loss was not in vain and he managed to fulfill its defensive role well for a long time even at the disadvantage.
So my opinion is that Chaos Knight is a good defensive card that even at disadvantage proved that so imagine if it had its full potential, how amazing it would be and another interesting thing also to mention is that it is still a very underestimated by players because it is rarely used and its value in the marketplace is very low compared to other cards of the same rarity and edition.
This is its current value in the marketplace and I consider it too low for a defensive card with it, which is very useful in battles, especially against melee and ranged cards, besides its mana cost is not that high so you can fit it in several battles and you can believe it will pay off.
That's what I wanted to talk about this letter and I believe that maybe in the future it will gain a bigger space in the battles in splinterlands, now I say goodbye here and see you next time.
