Forgotten One, a card that is worth every mana spent and every penny too, you will certainly want to have him by your side in battles and I will show you why he is so amazing.
First let's talk about your abilities and then I'll show you how to use them in battles and how strong this card is.
First let's talk about the immunity ability, although it's an ability you don't see much in battle and it doesn't seem to be that important, but actually it's essential for this card, but let's go in parts.
The immunity ability makes the card that has it immune to all negative effects which means it is unstoppable so in every round it will attack, in addition this ability makes it immune to the noxious fumes rule, where all cards suffer 2 damage per round unless it has the immunity ability, that means that while the other cards will suffer from this rule, One Forgotten doesn't and believe me when I say that it can make a difference in battle.
Immunity - This monster is immune to negative status effects. Still gets affected by summoner attack debuffs.
Noxious Fumes - All monsters start the game poisoned and will take 2 damage each turn unless cleansed. Big HP and cleanse are going to be your best bet here. However there may be some cases where you ignore and go for a big offensive attack and wipe out your opponent before the poison becomes a factor.
Its second skill is retaliate and this is where it makes it so strong, this skill means that every melee card that attacks One Forgotten has a chance to be attacked back, that means for every melee attack received, One Forgotten will deal its damage on attack back to the card that attacked him, if he has 4 damage then he will do 4 damage to that card.
Retaliate - When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance (50%) of attacking their attacker. Chain is possible.
Imagine this skill with the explosive weaponry rule where all cards have the blast skill, you can be sure it will be a bombing by One Forgotten, and I don't even need to mention the rule when all cards are melee, the damage will be big and I can say this from my own experience.
Explosive Weaponry - All monsters get the Blast Ability which does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage/2 rounded up.
And finally we have the piercing skill where the card that has this skill attacks it to take the difference from the shield in the opponent's life, that means that if a card has 6 life and 2 shield and the One Forgotten has 6 attack then it will take away the card's 2 shield and 4 health and that for a card with as high a damage as One Forgotten is quite an ability.
I'll leave the explanation of the skill in more detail in case you didn't understand it well.
Piercing - If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.
As you can see it is a card that has an absurd offensive damage and also a great amount of hp and defense, it will certainly give a lot of work before being defeated and as I said before I can say this from my own experience, in addition to that compared to others epic cards from the chaos legion edition it has a value of almost 3x compared to others.
As you can see it is selling for $2.28 while other epic cards of the same edition are selling for $0.80, this already shows that it is worth the cost and that it is also very useful.
But what should be its story and inspiration for its creation? I'll leave it below if you're curious.
For an age the towering beast had slumbered in the bowels of the deepest caverns of fire, a weapon forged for a war lost to memory or myth.
Into an invocation drawn from a rotting manuscript the High Magus of the Crypteia poured all his malice and hate. Drawing the razored flint across his palm he sealed the pact, completing the summoning, calling forth the great flaming homunculus, the Forgotten One.
As the great beast crawled from the burning pit, the Magus bade it roam free and armed it with a broad blade twice as tall as any man. It dwells there now, birthing others of its kind and passing on the knowledge of their making, and serves at the pleasure of the Magus as a hand of Chaos.
Of those that remained in the high vaulted chamber, the wizard's council stood in unison, confronting the hex bound High Magus of the Crypteia Turbulum, detailing his blasphemous crimes and sentencing him to death. As one they began the great working that would end him and repair his damage to the veil.
They were at first surprised and confused by his mad cackling laughter until the great flaming form emerged from the living rock. As the beast roared, the Magus' cackling rose hysterically as the council scattered in terror.
