Finding Value in Splinterlands Cards – Shock Trooper

in #splinterlands2 days ago

Hi all,

Introduction

It has been a while! I’ve been out of Hive and Splinterlands for a year and a half, but I came back and I want to make the most of it!
I would like to restart this series 😊

This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things – so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of strategy. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into in this series, and your support is much appreciated!
In this edition I will be looking at the ** Shock Trooper**.

Gameplay Analysis

The Shock Trooper is an Epic Water monster card with impressive stats for its mana cost. Its key features include:

Mana Cost: 4
Attack Type: Magic
Health: 5
Speed: 4
Magic Attack: 4
Strategic Fit
The Shock Trooper's high magic attack and speed make it a formidable damage dealer, especially considering its low mana cost. It can be effectively utilized in various battle scenarios, particularly in rulesets that favor magic attacks or low mana caps.

Synergies

Shock Trooper pairs well with cards and summoners that:

Enhance Magic Damage: Such as summoners that boost magic attack or abilities like Inspire.
Increase Speed: To ensure it attacks before opponents, maximizing its damage potential.
Protect Magic Attackers: Cards that provide shields or other forms of protection to sustain its presence on the battlefield.

Ruleset Performance

How the Shock Trooper performs under specific Splinterlands battle rulesets:

Equalizer: Its average health may benefit from this rule, turning it into a reliable mid-range attacker.
Aim True: Ensures its attacks land, making its high magic attack even more effective.
Weak Magic: Though it deals Magic damage, this ruleset could limit its effectiveness if shields absorb its attacks.

Conclusion

The Shock Trooper may not have flashy abilities, but its robust stats and low mana cost make it a card worth considering for both gameplay and investment. Its flexibility ensures value across a wide range of battles.
