Welcome back to our Weekly Battle Mage Secrets!
This week, we are featuring the Odd Ones Out ruleset.
Odd Ones Out:
- Only units with odd mana costs may be used.
- Summoners are not affected by this rule.
Odd Ones Out is an interesting ruleset which is quite a good handicap or both participants because you have to be quite creative in your lineups depending on what you have available in your deck. It's the sibling of the
Even Stevens ruleset which we covered previously. There are no particular Synergies or Counters so we'll look more towards some good abilities you can use depending on what you have available in your deck.

| Heal is of course used for more tankability and survivability. Whenever you can fit a healer in, it will be a great value add to make your tanks or secondary tanks with reach last longer. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Another good to have in any lineup, slot this one in as much as you can since the limitation of options can potentially be the difference maker in your lineup. |
| You can never go wrong with Poison. If you are able to slot this in your lineup, it could be a very strong addition. |
This week's feature is from a regular match in Diamond League. Rulesets are as follows:
This is an interesting mix of rulesets and it'll be good to use those glass cannon type cards if you can. Let's check things out. Round 1Both teams opted to go with the Death lineup. I went with Astral Entity while the enemy went with Thaddius Brood. The enemy started with a good tank in the Every Hungry Skull which is a good staple for equalizer matchups but I opted to tank with Djinn Muirat instead. Both teams have a good mix of backline damage so let's see how things play out. Round 2Round 2 sees no monsters going down yet but I did get quite lucky in terms of getting Poison on the opposing Silent Sha-vi as well as a few key dodges on Lira the Dark. My Djinn Muirat had to take on the bulk of the damage as a consequence, though. Round 3Round 3 has 3 monsters going down namely the opposing Silent Sha-vi and Life Sapper as well as my own Djinn Muirat. This is where the Astral Entity shines though, since it has a Resurrect ability, my tank is back online to tank a few more hits. Round 4Round 4 is the beginning of the end for the enemy since the double sneak lineup I have left together with Lira will be making quick work of the backline. ResultsGG! This was a good matchup and fairly even except for my summoner advantage. That's it for this one and see you next week! Full battle here.
