Venari Knifer - Punishing every hit and miss

Earth is most definitely my least favorite splinter in the game. A long time ago I made the dumb decision of selling almost all my earth cards in order to invest the money into the remaining splinters. At the time it seemed like a good idea but now I regret it because my deck lacks a lot of range when it comes to this specific splinter.

Best Earth Summoner: Lyanna, Wizard.
Best Dragon Summoner: Daria, Camila or Drake.

The Venari Knifer isn't a very flexible tank, it is only great under certain conditions. Its greatest weakness is playing versus a heavy magic damage deck as you wouldn't be able to take advantage of any of the abilities or speed to dodge incoming attacks.
Level 6 marks a huge power spike for the Venari Knifer, learning the backfire ability as a speedy frontline is a total game-changer. Dodging ranged attack depends a lot on luck but it will happen somewhat frequently with a frontline with 5 speed.

BEST RULESETS

Lost Magic - The opponent can only play melee or ranged damage so Venari can either dodge and strike back or thorn them to death.
Melee Mayhem - Dodge and strike back or Thorns damage.
Super Sneak - Put it at the back, it will Dodge and strike back, or Thorns damage
Up Close and Personal - You can play it at the front or at the back, once again it can either Dodge and strike back or do Thorns damage.

I usually like to share a winning battle on the share your battle challenges but this match was so ridiculous I decided to share it. It is one of the scenarios that annoys me the most about Splinterlands, what is this player doing on Gold II?
Seriously, his battlefield is worth more than my ENTIRE collection, it makes absolutely no sense...

It took less than 1 entire round for his team to completely obliterate mine. I know Splinterlands is a play-to-win game, that's one of the things I love about it. Slowly building an amazing deck and progressing over time is what makes a game interesting. What I don't get is why a player with such insanely high-level cards is playing on this rank. There was no outplay, luck, or strategy that could beat such an over-leveled deck.

The beginning of the season is always the toughest part. It will get better as over leveled players start to get back up to the ranks they belong and let the rest of us compete. I'm still considering if I should stay in Gold or climb back up to Diamond, it is the first season with the new reward system so it will take a while to adapt and formulate the best strategy.
