I love a good deal.
With people fading splinterlands and hive shooting up in price it seemed like a perfect opportunity to pick up a few cards that I didn't have in my collection.
Splinterlands cards have shown an increase in value over time, especially those from older editions that are no longer in print. Investing in more cards now, especially those that are out of print or have utility in the game is a good way to build value into my deck.
I play in the wild league anyway and haven't bothered with the latest card edition preferring to fill out the older ones for now and can check back in at a later date to rebellion.
I've fully completed the chaos deck as that was the cheapest to do reward and main editions. Riftwatchers is on my list even though i have picked up a good few of them over the past year when there was a bargain.
This time however I saw some value in the azmare dice collection which is unusual. As this was a smaller mini set the cards are priced higher and in smaller quantities but it seems like a player was selling a group of assets as their name came up under a few card sales.
The first one I spotted was,
Lensmaster.
At $25 for a maxed out copy it was a great deal. They are a 1 mana legendary card which is nice to have in the lower mana battles. The next max card is $75 so this was a steal at the price and one of the cheapest legendaries on the market.
Cthulhu
This one was a throw up between Cthulhu and Caladuum they were both about the same price but i feel that my death splinter is not as strong as my fire so bought this legendary to bulk it up.
He is a high mana card at 11 but has the stats to back it up. Again there are just over 1000 copies with just 7 for sale now and enough to max out one more copy at $50. These are the types of card I'm looking for as there are far too many chaos cards to be rare or gain a lot in value.
Beta are on my list as well but they are still quite expensive and it takes time to buy everything. I'm building up my next little stack of DEC now this week and will try to pick up some more cards while Hive is going well. It makes it a lot easier to purchase assets and can only be a good thing for the game when the price of hive rises so we should all be trying to spread awareness and bring in new users to the chain and to the game itself.
Always weigh the potential for future game changes which might affect card utility or value. Remember, any investment in game assets like Splinterlands cards carries risks, especially in a market that can be influenced by game-specific factors.
Try for yourself.
If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.
