Hi everyone! I'm making two posts back to back today, and it's fun!
I just made my Battle Mage Secrets post, now it's time for the Social Media Challenge.
You can read the splinterlands post on how to enter the challenge yourself here.
My guild is still looking for players, new or experienced, 2 guilds, 1 free to play.
You can read more in this post.
Today, I want to share two different battles.
I bought Immortalis along with a bulk buy where I invested about $100 to further strengthen my deck, and I regretted buying him in the first weeks, struggling to have a lot of succes when I played him, it turned out I just needed to get used to when and where I needed to pick him, and I'm slowly starting to like him more and more.
The Line-Up:
- Summoner - Immortalis, reason: the shatter and void abilities.
- First Position - Grund, reason: high melee damage, getting even more stronger with the enrage ruleset, and double strike, hitting like a truck.
- Second Position - Regal Peryton, reason: fast, flying, getting really evasive when hit.
- Third Position - Goblin Psychic, reason: to make Grund survive longer. drawback: once fully healed, he loses the enrage ability until he's hit again.
- Fourth position - Queen Mycelia, reason: Protect ability, giving all monsters +2 armor, preventing fast kills by enemy opportunity monsters.
- Fifth position - Spirit Hoarder, reason: Traige, healing the taunting Mycelic Slipspawn.
- Sixth position - Mycelic Slipspawn, reason: Taunt, so Grund doesn't take the full hit.
The Battle
This battle is, once again against a bot, I see this bot farm a lot in silver. The Venari Wavesmith has the same ability as my Queen Mycelia, giving all enemy cards +2 armor, the great thing about Immortalis is that even when a magic attackers hits the HP, it shatters their armor, making it easier for the rest of my monsters to quicly take them out.
This makes Immortalis an excellent counter against Kelya Frendul and Grandmaster Rathe.
At the start of Round 2, the enemy tank has already died and the second position is also about to die.
My team had some trouble killing the enraged Oshannus though, with it's 8 speed and void, it's hard to hit for melee attackers, and doing only half the damage or zero damage for magic attackers. My Heal / Taunt / Triage strategy worked, so my team stayed alive long enough to grind trough his team.
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
Another win in the pocket, and a little SPS earned 👍
The second battle using another shatter monster....
Musa Saline!
She picks up the Shatter ability at lvl 2, so this strategy is only for max level silver players and up.
This is a 99 mana battle, with the Broken Arrows ruleset, so I kinda expected my enemy to play Earth / Magic. So I went counter magic, and for safety, I included Musa, for when my opponent did something unexpected, like playing water with Diemon Shark as tank.
Well he DID something unexpected, so my Musa was a life saver, so my team could quickly shred trough Djinn Chwalla.
In round 1, my team already killed Chwalla, and it got resurrected with full armor and 1 HP by River Helondale, to be hit and killed again by Oshannus right at the start of round 2.
The very strong card Carnage Titan was awaiting the same fate, getting quickly killed before it can do too much damage with it's double strike.
Again, Oshannus was a bit difficult to kill, good thing I brought Deep Lurker and Oshannus was the one with the lowest HP on the enemy team.
Round 7 was the last round, look at Musa's health, when you put it in the backline, it's a great meat shield once it gets to the front.
Another win, very little SPS though.
Another great example for a monster with the shatter ability at low level is War Pegasus, it's a great back liner, with 4 speed it dodges quite a few sneak attacks, while helping to kill off the enemy tank fast.
Too bad I don't have a battle in my history to show it in action 🤷♂
