Hello community, today a new season started in the game Splinterlands, meaning that it is time to open the chests from the previous season. I managed to open 60 season chests, being in Silver League, I had never opened so many chests, the expectation was high, but the rewards were reasonable within the expected. The best card I received was an Epic, no Golds or Packs for a total of 28 cards won, 14 potions and 18 Dec ( a total of 586 ).
The battle I will share is about the card Minotaur Warlord just last season, which I rented to make my Focus Earth, as I needed a tank for battles, I understood that Minotaur Warlord would be a very strong card in attack and against magic attacks due to its initial Magic Reflect ability thus causing damage to the Magic attacks suffered.
I have only played with the card in the initial level but we can see that it has very interesting abilities against ranged and magic attacks, besides that at level 3 it gains the Blast ability, it is a very strong card, the weak point is that it has no armor and is accessible to Melee attacks, but it can be complemented with cards or Summoners applying the Thorns ability and thus causes damage to any type of attack it suffers and with its high health points, it can be combined with Tank Heal cards and becomes a machine in battle.
Given the ruleset, we had Reverse Speed and Knock Out with plenty of Mana available.
So my idea for the battle was to choose cards that could be the first to attack in the battle, I could choose Melee attack cards with Mylor Crowling Summoner.
But seeing that my opponent was using a lot of Magic attack cards, my idea was to use the same strategy but protecting myself. And with that I chose the Obsidian Summoner to increase the Magic attack of my Magic cards.
To lead my team I chose Minotaur Warlord betting that the opponent would choose Magic attack cards and so I had some protection with Magic Reflect because it allowed me to be able to reduce or even eliminate the opponent's Magic cards.
For the second position, Sand Worm, despite not being a Magic card, was one of the first attack cards in the battle, and with its high attack damage was an important card to combine in this battle.
Queen Mycelia had two uses in this battle, being an important choice, because she received Buff from the Summoner, had reduced speed and gave Armor to all my cards, something important to be able to protect them and not be easily eliminated.
In a similar sense, Goblin Psychic would repair the health of my tank with its ability, thus with these two cards I could give more protection to Minotaur Warlord.
My idea for this battle would be to combine cards with reduced speed and protect my cards, and so Mushroom Seer with Silence ability would reduce the attack of Magic cards and lastly, Sporcerer would reduce the armor of the opponent's cards. Despite being cards with few health points, they have an attack that can be increased by the Summoner if the opponent does not use Debuff to Magic attacks, and with reduced speed they are one of the first to attack in battle.
A bet believing that the opponent would use Magic attack cards.
The opponent chose cards that I was counting on, and so both strategies used in battle are similar, the difference being that I can apply Debuff to Magic attacks, and my cards have an advantage in attacking first due to their reduced speed.
Starting the battle, my Magic attacks are concentrated on the opponent's tank, Prismatic Energy also with Magic Reflect ability and I was lucky that my Magic attack cards had more than two health points, otherwise with their increased attack and receiving Magic Reflect they would be immediately eliminated and completely changing the course of the battle.
But I managed to eliminate Prismatic Energy and it was a great relief.
The armor on my cards allowed Sand Worm's extremely strong attack to miss Sporcerer's health while Minotaur Warlord is undeterred and eliminates Mermaid Healer with just one attack.
It is now the opponent's turn to attack with their strong Magic attack cards as they have high speed and were the last to attack in this battle, and attacking Minotaur Warlord causes them to take damage and Captain Ghost cannot apply Affliction and so my tank will be healed early in the second round.
The battle was going perfectly, the opponent's attacks would now be concentrated on my tank, while I had a greater number of cards and the advantage of attacking first in the battle.
Starting the second round my cards with increased Magic attack are able to eliminate the opponent's cards because they have already suffered damage by Magic Reflect and with that they can no longer attack in the battle because they are eliminated and the battle is over, with all the power of the opponent was only able to attack in the first round, all because he had the speed of his cards increased, and in this battle, this would be a disadvantage.
This battle was on the first day of the previous season when I had moved up from the Bronze to Silver League and faced some pretty strong opponents early in the season, so having chosen strong cards that would allow me to make my focus.
Today I have not started the new season yet, if I get a strong entry like I did in the previous season it would be good to earn more Rshares and consequently more chests.
Here are in detail my rewards from the end of last season
