In this post I will analyze a card from the chaos legion edition that recently increased in price, its name is Chaos Dragon and is it really that good for many people to be buying it?
Edition: Chaos Legion
Rarity: Legendary
Deck: Dragon
Type of attack: Magic
Abilities: Flying, Scattershot, Blast and Blind
Mana Cost: 14
Power: 500 ( 1 BCX )
What directly reflects on the value of a card in Splinterlands is its usefulness in battles, so if it is a powerful card it means that players/investors will want to have them to play and hold and if it gets even better at higher levels so they will buy more cards and burn them to level up and having less card in circulation also affects the value.
In the case of Chaos Dragon it has a very high amount of mana and this is not a very good thing because it affects when you can use it in battle since having this high mana cost doesn't allow you in battles that have low mana unless you have a strategy for them with Chaos Dragon. But because it is a card with such a high mana cost then it means that it must be an amazing card and don't have any doubts because it has very strong stats and excellent abilities as you can see in the image below.
Its stats are incredibly powerful since level 1 so even if the player doesn't have it at max level it will still be an excellent choice and its abilities as I mentioned before are 4 which I will detail how they work.
Its Flying ability is very useful in battle because it gives Chaos Dragon a +25% chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks from cards that don't have this ability. If you've played against cards that have this ability then you should already know that they dodge attacks a lot and the more you dodge the greater the chances of winning the battle because they didn't take damage.
Its Scattershot ability makes the Chaos Dragon attack a random target and this may not be a very good thing since in a battle having a focus on a certain target would be the best because then it is defeated faster, but in the case from Chaos Dragon is different because it has the Blast ability which I will explain shortly and which becomes a great combination for the Scattershot ability.
The Blast ablitiy as I mentioned before causes Chaos Dragon to deal additional damage to cards close to the target it hit, so if it deals damage to the card positioned in the first position it will also deal some of that damage to the card positioned in the second. position, if the target is a card that is between two other cards then it will damage its target and on those two cards which makes it damage 3 cards in a single round, so having Scattershot as an abilitie is great for the Chaos Dragon.
The Blind ability causes Chaos Dragon to decrease the chances of my opponent's cards hitting the target by 15% and this ability will be incredibly useful in battle not only for Chaos Dragon but for all your cards as the opponent will have less chances to hit the attack, but in the case of Chaos Dragon he will benefit more because he has Flying ability that increases his chances of dodging so have no doubt that your opponent will have a hard time hitting this card.
As you can see Chaos Dragon is not just a card to have in your collection because it can increase in price, but because it is incredible in battles and of course also a good investment but know that every investment has its risks.
PRICE
At the moment this post is being published, the value of Chaos Dragon is $10.90 and as I believe that when the sales of chaos legion packs are over, the value of the cards will go up in price so this price for Chaos Dragon I consider low for an incredibly useful and powerful card like him, so if your intention is to have a great card for your battles and think as an investment for the future then why not have Chaos Dragon in your collection?
In the image above shows the daily chart of Chaos Dragon that Peakmonster provides but it is a little outdated, the important thing is to see that in the last 24 hours 57 Chaos Dragon cards were sold and that's quite a lot for a legendary card, now let's see the weekly chart.
In the weekly chart we can already see that during 7 days 120 cards were sold so only in the last 24 hours that 57 cards were sold represents almost half of the cards sold during the week and therefore its value has increased.
While the sale of chaos legion packs doesn't end the fluctuation in card values is usually high so if you see a useful and strong card like Chaos Dragon in low this means an opportunity to profit in the short term so always keep an eye on the market because you never know when they will emerge and I believe that players have started to better see the potential of the Chaos Dragon and make it count for what it really is.
That was my review of this amazing card and why its value has soared recently and now stick with its story.

LORE
The Chaos Realm has preyed upon many a world, opening rifts in time and space to invade the lands and take from its people. When they attacked Praetoria and the Splinterlands, it was first thought that the minions were compelled through the portal for their fear of the dark shade that lurked beyond the gate, the shadowed image of Uul. Eventually though, when the last of the armies stepped through, there came such a prodigious monster that at first, none could believe it was real. A nightmare dragged forth into reality.
As it flew through the spinning vortex, the Chaos Dragon let forth a violent shriek, so loud that it was felt in the far reaches of every Splinter. The people of Praetoria fell to their knees, terror taking the strength from their legs and the courage from their hearts. For an army of monsters can be fought, the land defended with righteous fervor. But when even the invading hordes are fleeing before such a beast, what hope can there be? The answer is none when the eater of worlds has arrived, the true devourer of existence.
Surely such a thing couldn’t be the puppet of Uul? How could anyone command a creature that has flown from one cosmos to another, feeding upon alien planets? But it was his most potent being, one that existed before time had conceived the very gift of life itself.
Lord General Reinold, of the order of the Silver Shield, sat astride his warhorse and looked out across the vast plains of Ixzoc. Lined formations of warriors stretched as far as the eye could see, from right to left, their tall pikes reaching up to the sky, threatening the sun with sharp spikes. Behind them were great square phalanxes of paladins standing to attention, their cloaks brushing against highly polished plate armour as they waved in the breeze. To either side were his knights, gilded lances pointed to the heavens adorned with pennants denoting the Order of the Shield.
Reinold thought back to their journey from Khymeria to Praetoria. It had taken weeks for the nation's admiralty to sail the army here and now they’d arrived he was unsure of where to go. ‘Close the chaos rift’ the council had instructed, ‘stop the creeping plague’, but this land was so alien from anything he’d ever seen. Aside from the small port at Blue Harbour, they’d not come across any great cities.
His attention was taken as a cloud passed before the sun…no wait, not a cloud. What could be so vast that it could blot the sun from the sky? He lifted his head and looked to where the shape moved. Jagged spikes jutted from the body and head, pointing in all angles before continuing along the back and onto the spine of its long tail that flicked at the air like a serpents forked tongue. The wings were so vast that Reinold swore they could envelope the entire continent in darkness if the creature wished it, or raise an immense hurricane if it were to beat them hard enough. Dark pearlescent scales warped from purples and blacks, to a sickening blood red that made his vision swim. And then it was gone.
The next he knew, a decaying blast of necrotic energy swept across the entire army. Plate armor instantly dissolved in the caustic discharge, skin and flesh bubbling beneath before putrefying into liquid filth. Not a soul was left standing, not one single soldier. Reinold looked down at his own body, a shimmer of white light about him, a persistent and repulsive purple haze pressing in on all sides. There was movement beside him and a cloaked figure stumbled forward into view.
“My Lord, I can’t hold this shield for much longer.”
Reinold felt his skin prickle beneath the relentless weight of chaos. “High Priest Lehin,” he coughed, his throat itching with an acidic burn. “Flee...save yourself. Someone must warn Khymeria.”
Then darkness took him and all was lost.
