SPIRIT HOARDER... The Triage Master

For this weeks battle challenge, we got chaos legendary monster, SPIRIT HOARDER. SPIRIT HOARDER is an neutral legendary magic attack monster.

Here is SPIRIT HOARDER's amazing lore:

When the Chaos Legion opened their portals to begin the invasion of Praetoria, the great vortexes tugged at the edges of time and space, drawing in matter from other realms. These portals were so powerful that other beings were dragged through against their will, snatched from their own worlds. And so it was that the Spirit Hoarder found itself walking the lands of Praetoria. No one truly knows where it originated from, but the consensus remains the same: They wish the Spirit Hoarder would return and no longer blight the Splinterlands with its wicked presence.

Described as almost dryad-like in its appearance by the few that have lived to tell the tale, the Spirit Hoarder is a faceless creature aside from two large, yellow eyes. Its body is a deep green with tributaries of aqua blue running through its skin, converging into jagged dorsal vertebrae along its back, and the uneven ruts of its head almost look like broken wood jutting away from the otherwise smooth and serene outline of its body. The alien appearance of this creature makes it difficult to tell where it resided on its home world, and it is likely at some point in evolution its habitat was in water, but now it is clear that it makes its home on solid ground and is completely terrestrial.

Granted, it is a docile looking creature, but the gnarled staff it carries, with branches twisted into a series of synchronised patterns, holds a sinister, spinning orb of power. It is a mystic force, the likes of which has never been seen before. This is the Vault of Spirit Hoarders and the one true source of its power. If one were to look at the orb closely enough, they would see the tormented spirits drifting inside, desperate to be free of the anguish prolonged by their eternal prison. What makes the Spirit Hoarder so utterly terrifying, though, is the indifference in which it stalks the land. The Spirit Hoarder cares not of the source of souls it takes, with both Praetorians and Chaos Legion having fallen victim to its obscene harvesting.

Physical attributes of SPIRIT HOARDER aren't that much attractive to be honest. Starting with a magic attack of 1, at maxed level the attack gets to just 2. Health remains constant at low value of 3. The same goes for speed having a minimal value of 1 throughout. There is no shield what so ever. It wouldn't of wrong to say that SPIRIT HOARDER physical attributes are not meant to win battles.

But the abilities of SPIRIT HOARDER does make it a worthy legendary monster. Starting with Triage ability at level 1, Dispel comes at level 2 and finally Blind comes at level 3.

Cost Analysis

Currently there are 18,193 normal foil and 1,007 gold foil SPIRIT HOARDERs in circulation, costing a minimum of 5.27$/BCX and 43.98$/BCX respectively.

Favored/Unfavored Battle Rules

SPIRIT HOARDER works well in almost all kind of battle rule sets that allow magic attack monsters. Aimless, Healed Out, Counterspell and Amplify rulesets are worst suited.

Vulnerability and Disadvantage

SPIRIT HOARDER vulnerability is its low health and it is susceptible to Magic Reflect, Snipe and Blast damages.

Placement

SPIRIT HOARDER is best suited in mid ranks well protected from Blast, Sneak and Snipe attacks.

Complementing Summoners and Abilities

SPIRIT HOARDER can be complemented decently by summoners like MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE, DELWYN DRAGONSCALE, LUX VEGA, PRINCE RENNYN, ALRIC STORMBRINGER, VALNAMOR, IMMORTALIS, LILY SHIELDPAW and WAKA SPIRITBLADE.

It can be complemented decently by abilities like Protect, Strengthen, Triage, Resurrect, Swiftness and Slow.

Defense

Best defend against SPIRIT HOARDER is killing it using either Magic Reflect powered by Amplify or by Blast damage.

MY BATTLE USING SPIRIT HOARDER

This was a 29 mana battle with two battle rules; Aim True and Briar Patch. Fire, Earth and Water splinters were allowed.

MY LINEUP

OBSIDIAN

I decided to go with OBSIDIAN as I was anticipating enemy magic based attack so I went with OBSIDIAN as it works best as low mana magic based battle defender.

LORD ARIANTHUS

Up front I used one of the best neutral tanks, LORD ARIANTHUS. It possesses everything a tank is supposed to have and costs only 5 mana.

FAILED SUMMONER

On one down I used another low mana tank. FAILED SUMMONER's heavy health and magic reflect ability makes it a best tank for defending magic attack.

QUEEN MYCELIA

On third position, I placed another legendary; QUEEN MYCELIA. Loaded with awesome abilities QUEEN MYCELIA is loaded with much needed abilities.

SPIRIT HOARDER

Next came yet star of the show, SPIRIT HOARDER. I used SPIRIT HOARDER for its Triage ability. Enough Triage in back ranks can make a team invincible.

SPIRIT OF THE FOREST

On the second last position, I placed my healer, SPIRIT OF THE FOREST. Costing 7 mana SPIRIT OF THE FOREST is well worth the mana cost.

DOCTOR BLIGHT

On the last position, I used my favorite legendary, DOCTOR BLIGHT. DOCTOR BLIGHT's Affliction, Camouflage, Scavenger and Poison abilities makes it a real asset in all kind of rulesets. Again in this ruleset Camouflage of DOCTOR BLIGHT is of real value.

BATTLE ANALYSIS

The battle went as planned. My guess of enemy going with full fledge Magic attack proved right so I my Magic Reflect tanks powered by Amplify damaged all the enemy magic attack monster. SPIRIT HOARDER didn't got the chance to significantly influence the proceedings but still it was reassuring to have it in lineup.
