Feature request - one-click rentals in battle screen | Splinterlands

in #splintertalk11 months ago

Something I would love to see in Splinterlands is the ability to rent cards directly from within the battle screen. I think it would massively increase rentals. I find myself frequently jumping to Peakmonsters during the 2 minute timer to go find a specific card I want, then refreshing the battle screen before scrambling to set up my lineup. This would enable a smoother experience and would open up the cheap rental market so more players could enjoy the game's depth without nearly as much hassle.

Pardon the very rough mockups (done in powerpoint!), but here's essentially how it would work:

In the battle screen, the filter would enable an option called "For rent" which would show cards that are rentable. Of course the rentable cards would match the ruleset and other filters, so it would only show applicable cards.

Once a player has selected a card they want to rent, they'd simply click on it and rent it out straight from the battle interface.

To simplify the UX, I would recommend that the card selected by the interface be the highest level available card for the league the player is in (instead of letting the player pick from difference available offers).

Doing this could help bolster the rental market while also making it easier for players to expand their game.

What do you think? Is this a feature you would use?

Thanks for sharing! - @rehan12

I think it is definitely something to consider, but I don't think it should be a high priority considering all the other things on the plate of the devs. It isn't THAT hard to have peakmonsters (or whatever other rental site is preferred) open in another tab, but there is a point to be made about keeping the fees in house with the company. Not the worst idea. I might even use it if I'm sloshing around a few credits.

Thanks Duce. I agree it's not the #1 priority, just hoping it can go on the backlog and get done eventually :)
