Hello everyone!! 👻👻👻
This time I bring you one of my new projects in my blog. I will interview great people that are doing great things in the #hive blockchain. And in my first one, I want to give an enormous #shoutout to @hawks21 who has decided to help all the community with his videos in his Youtube channel and also in his 3speak channel. In his quite over 10 days journey in content creation has brought some strategic and investment advice that everyone should take into account.
First of all, tell me a little bit about yourself
So I'm from the US. Originally from the East coast, but recently moved to the midwest. I'm in my late 20s and professionally I work in finance/investing
When did you acquire your first crypto and when did you begin playing splinterlands?
So I first purchased bitcoin in 2016, a really small amount mostly for fun and to learn. Been steadily adding to my crypto holdings ever since.
I got into Splinterlands about 5-6 months ago. I had started to read about different P2E games because I love gaming and the idea of earning from them was super attractive. I tried out a bunch of different games at the time and splinterlands was by far my favorite. So I focused all my time on that
Wow, we've got an elder crypto investor here! How much CP have you accumulated in this 6M playin? And which league are u ranked in x season?
Yeah it was the perfect storm. I was finishing college my risk appetite was high and my two roommates were engineers. So I thought the finance aspect was interesting and they were more into the tech aspect so we talked about it a ton. I’m currently just under 220,000 power. I had about 100,000 CP coming into Chaos Legion launch and decided to go all-in on building a high-level modern format gold deck I currently play in gold I and imagine I’ll be here for a while
Which are your best summoners in CL? Could you share with the readers an example of your 'perfect' battles?
So I have every chaos legion summoner (except Quix) at level 6 which is maxed for gold. The two chaos legion summoners I use the most right now are probably Kelya and Obsidian. Kelya is my favorite by far of the chaos summoners and I use obsidian because I have a fairly well-built-out earth deck. I think Thaddeus is SUPER underrated and he’s someone I love using. I’m actively working on improving my death deck so I can be more competitive there. My only other summoner is Kitty which I have at level 3, also max for gold. Kitty in my personal opinion is the best card in the game. Here is an example of the battle you ask battle with Kitty the Ripper By opponent misses me over 10 times because of my speed. Anything fast with phase I love
Almo, Nightmare, Efreet Elder.
Maybe I am a little bit late to invest 400$ per box on Kitty but she is worth every single bug. I also agree with Thaddeus. Which are in your opinion cards that can rule the meta, and maybe some hidden treasures?
I'm going to have some videos on underrated cards coming soon
But there's a ton of good value across chaos legion but it depends on how someone's deck is built. To me, the meta is fast cards.
Nightmare at 45 cents being untamed is a joke, isn't it? What are your objectives in short term in splinterlands and for 2022 what do u expect from the game?
Specifically at the gold level and the higher nightmare is insanely good
synergizes so well with the new airdrop card. My objectives for the short-term are to get as many chaos legion packs as possible. I want to make sure I maximize the legendary summoner airdrops I'm getting I plan on holding all my packs and reselling them down the line when chaos legion sells out. Then using that capital to reinvest back into cards. At that point, I'll either back the decision to push up into diamond or go all-in on having a top-tier gold modern league deck. That's my current lineup thinking given where I'm at, but for those just starting I think buying these cheap chaos legion cards is a no-brainer.
I went all in (with my possible investments for 350 packs) and I will follow up to get guaranteed airdrops. How many packs did u buy? I will also hold them till the end of times like you!
I have 1,380 airdrop points with 1.050 packs already opened and 330 pending to open.
The interview is approaching the end and I would like to ask you about how did you decide to begin creating videos, what is your desired audience
and which topics would you like to talk about
So a few reasons. For how simple Splinterlands is to play, the strategy behind winning consistently is complicated and the economy itself is probably even more complicated. When I first started there were basically two people making videos that I watched
@infidel1258 and @bulldog1205, both of which were incredibly helpful and I still religiously watch their videos today!
But they're only two guys! They couldn't possibly cover everything, so I had to learn a lot of this on my own and conquer the learning curve. I just want to help make it easier for people to start playing the game at a competitive level. This game can be an absolute GRIND at lower levels, but once you get up to silver it gets a lot more fun and rewarding. I would hate for players to stop playing at bronze because they don't realize what's waiting for them around the corner as they move up. So I want to cover everything from beginner's guides, higher-level strategy sessions, and the economy and market
So I guess that your desired audience would be beginners who wanted to be intermediates?
As my audience builds out I'll tailor more to what they want, but as someone who just moved up the ranks into gold a few weeks ago I think I have a unique perspective on knowing what it likes in bronze and low silver plus being able to offer some gold level strategy tips
What would you say to a normal gamer that pays to win to jump in the wonderful world that is #Splinterlands?
You're not going to find another p2e game in the space that is as healthy or built out for the long term as splinterlands. This game does not promise to reward you right away. It's a game that is set up to reward you based on the length of time you play. The rewards you make at first are going to seem trivial, but they compound once you've played for months and months. I made a Twitter thread on this.
I guess we wish both have landed splinterlands 2 years before!
And to finalize the interview I would like you to bet the dates when will be all 14M CL sold?
Oh wow! Tough one!
So currently doing about 25K packs a day I believe which would mean the remaining 8 million would sell out in 320 days
But I think a few things are going to speed that up 1) the increased number of packs needed to guarantee airdrops. Not sure if you saw but need 500 airdrop points to get the 7th, 2) once the legendary summoners are revealed I think there will be a lot of hype and some FOMO, 3) them releasing packs in rewards will decrease the supply
I’ll say sometime in June I think they sell out
