Introduction
Continuing the series of posts about the Set Riftwatchers cards (Greengineer, 2022-a, 2022-b and 2022-c), In this post, a battle will be presented with the participation of the new Dragon Splinter summoner, Sthispa:
- Phase: Monsters with this ability now dodge magic attacks with the same calculation applied to physical attacks.
A summoner that provided the Phase skill was speculated to appear among the Set Chaos Legion legendaries and left the community wondering what would happen if monsters with diverse defensive abilities, such as the Phantom of Abyss, obtained this skill. When Sthispa was announced there was a split between those who thought she was a stolen summoner and those who didn't. Some of this was due to the joint release with the monster Coeurl Lurker that has this ability combined with Dodge and Taunt, being able to dodge several attacks when combined with summoners and monsters that increase the speed difference between the enemy team and the ally (Greengineer , 2022-c). Despite being overshadowed by the Coeurl Lurker, Sthispa brings a lot of possibilities in the assembly of teams that use movement speed as a means of defense, because due to it being from the Dragon Splinter, it can be combined with any of the other Splinters. There follows a battle with your participation.
The strategy before the battle
The battle had the Fog of War and Close Range rules active, there were 29 MP available and only Fire, Life and Dragon Splinters were available. I tried to test Sthispa in this battle and for that I looked for a monster that had the necessary skills to make good use of Phase. I don't deny that the strategies using Coeurl Lurker inspired me to look for a monster that also had Taunt, and of the ones I had available, Magnor was a good candidate for having the Enrage ability.
So, choosing the Summoner and the tank, I tried to place monsters that would increase the movement speed difference between my team and the enemy team. For this I put Venator Kinjo in second position with Reflection Shield, Camouflage, Immunity and Slow. In third position was Scavo Chemist with Cleanse and Slow. In fifth position I put Spirit Miner with Dodge, Swiftness and Blind. In the last position I put the Flame Imp with Flying and Swiftness. To use the remaining 02 MP points I put Fiendish Harpy with Flying and Opportunity in fourth position.
Upon being hit, Magnor would obtain high attack power and movement speed, being able to attack twice per round if it killed an opponent due to Trample ability. The weak point of this strategy was if my opponent came with True Damage, but luckily for me that didn't happen:
The battle
My opponent came in with Summoner Delwyn Dragonscale and Pelacor Conjurer with Magic Reflect and Divine Shield as tank. In second position he had Dax Paragon with Amplify and Affliction. In third position was High Priest Darius with Resurrect. In fourth position was Djinn Renova with Strength and Triage and in last position was Spirit Hoarder with Triage.
My opponent's strategy was to eliminate my allies with magic attack when they hit the Pelacor Conjurer. When resurrected he would return with the Divine Shield ability, being able to be hit at least twice to make him fall again. Meanwhile he sought to eliminate me with his team's high magic attack power. The problem is that he didn't invest in movement speed and that got him in trouble as we'll see next.
In the first round my Flame Imp left the game by attacking the Pelacor Conjurer. Magnor missed the first charge against the Pelacor Conjurer. The Spirit Hoarder hit Magnor, activating Enrage.
In the second round Magnor killed the Pelacor Conjurer, activating Trample and killing Dax Paragon. The Pelacor Conjurer was resurrected by High Priest Darius. Then the Spirit Miner eliminated the Pelacor Conjurer once and for all from the match. In the sequence all enemies missed the attack against Magnor.
In the third round Magnor eliminated High Priest Darius, activating Trample and killing Djinn Renova. In the sequence the Spirit Miner eliminated the Spirit Hoarder, guaranteeing me the victory.
Magnor with the Phase ability proved to be powerful, dodging several opponents' attacks. There are several other possibilities for teams to be assembled with Sthispa, just observe if the available MP and game rules meet her use.

A batalha
O Magnor errou a primeira investida contra o Pelacor Conjurer. O Spirit Hoarder atingiu o Magnor, ativando o Enrage.
No segundo round o Magnor matou o Pelacor Conjurer, ativando Trample e matando o Dax Paragon.
No terceiro round o Magnor eliminou o High Priest Darius, ativando o Trample e matando a Djinn Renova. Na sequência o Spirit Miner eliminou o Spirit Hoarder, me garantindo a vitória.
