Introduction

Another weekly challenge released (Splinterlands, 2022), this time about a card from the Set Chaos Legion and the Water Splinter, the Diemonshark:

Diemonshark Lvl 08

  • Trample: When killing a monster, it makes one more attack on the monster in the next position (ignoring even the Camouflage ability).
  • Enrage: If its HP is below max HP, this monster has Melee attack and movement speed stats increased by one and a half times, rounded up.
  • Retaliate: When receiving a melee attack, it has a 50% chance to attack back.

Diemonshark is a monster with lots of HP and Shield and has high movement speed, making it a good candidate for a Tank. Combined with Summoner Kelya Frendul he is usually relentless, even more so if he has allies to recover his HP and Shield. It loses to other tanks for not having defensive abilities such as Shield and Void, the latter being the one it misses the most for not being able to evade magical attacks. On the other hand, he has a good attack power and has the Trample ability, being able to devastate several enemies. In fact, he and the Desert Dragon were the first monsters released to have this skill since level 01. Next, a battle with his participation will be presented.

The strategy before the battle

The battle had Stampede and Lost Magic rules active, 56 MP available, and only Water and Life Splinters were available.

As monsters with magic attack could not be used, my opponent's attacks would be Physical, causing Diemonshark's main weak point to be eliminated. Also, to attack from positions other than the first one, the monsters would have to have abilities like Reach, Opportunity or Sneak, or have a ranged attack. With that much MP available there wouldn't be many monsters with Melee attack and with these skills available, so my opponent would probably come with several monsters with ranged attack. So selecting Lir Deepswimmer as a Summoner was a natural choice due to his Return Fire and Blind abilities.

Once Summoner and Tank were chosen, for the other positions I tried to put as much attack power as possible, with the exception of the second position that I put Baakjira with Void, Slow, Strengthen and Heal to hold possible attacks with the Snipe ability. In third position was Supply Runner with Swiftness. In fourth position I put the Axemaster with Double Strike and Close Range. In fifth position I put Poseidon with Shield and Blast to protect my backline. In last position was Sea Stalker with Camouflage, Snipe and Cleanse.

With Buff Swiftness and Debuff Slow I would increase the movement speed difference between my team and my opponent's, giving my tank more survivability. If ranged enemies hit my allies, they would take part of the damage back with Return Fire. The other monsters had high attack power, with the aim of eliminating the enemy tank as quickly as possible.

Once assembled the team was hoping that my opponent didn't abuse melee monsters and luckily for me that didn't happen.

The battle

My opponent came with the Summoner General Sloan and the Uriel the Purifier tank, with Flying, Recharge and Heal. In second position he had the Sand Worm with Sneak and Snare. In third position was Supply Runner with Swiftness. In fourth position he had Pelacor Arbalest with Double Strike and Flying. In fifth position was Venari Crystalsmith and in last position was Prismologist.

My opponent wanted to keep his tank alive as long as possible using Tank Heal combined with the Heal skill. If I didn't protect my backline I would be in trouble with the Sandworm and there was plenty of ranged attack for my tank to deal with.

In the first round my Sea Stalker took out the enemy Supply Runner. Uriel lost all his Shield and came to 04 HP, but the double healing made him recover all the damage.

In the second round Pelacor Arbalest was eliminated by my Sea Stalker. Diemonshark eliminated Uriel, activating Trample and attacking Sandworm.

In the third round my Supply Runner eliminated the Sandworm. Then Diemonshark eliminated Venari Crystalsmith, activating Trample and then eliminating Prismologist.

Diemonshark fulfilled its objective in the match, holding my front line, and still managed to eliminate 03 enemy monsters.

Introdução

Mais um desafio semanal lançado (Splinterlands, 2022), desta vez sobre um carta do Set Chaos Legion e do Splinter da Água, o Diemonshark:

Diemonshark Lvl 08

  • Trample: Ao abater um monstro faz mais um ataque no monstro da próxima posição (ignorando até mesmo a habilidade Camouflage).
  • Enrage: Se tiver com o HP abaixo do HP máximo este monstro tem os status de ataque Melee e de velocidade de movimento aumentados em uma vez e meia, arredondados para cima.
  • Retaliate: Ao receber um ataque corpo a corpo tem 50% de chance de atacar de volta.

O Diemonshark é um monstro com bastante HP e Shield e possui alta velocidade de movimento, fazendo ele ser um bom candidato a Tanque. Combinado à Summoner Kelya Frendul ele costuma ser implacável, ainda mais se possuir aliados para recuperarem seu HP e Shield. Perde de outros tanques por não possuir habilidades defensivas como o Shield e o Void, sendo esta última a que mais lhe faz falta por não ter como evadir de ataques mágicos. Em compensação ele possui um bom poder de ataque e conta com a habilidade Trample, podendo devastar diversos inimigos. Aliás ele e o Desert Dragon foram os primeiros monstros lançados a possuir esta habilidade desde o nível 01. Na sequência será apresentada uma batalha com a sua participação.

A estratégia antes da batalha

A batalha possuía as regras Stampede e Lost Magic ativas, 56 de MP disponíveis e apenas os Splinters da Água e da Vida estavam disponíveis.

Como não poderiam ser utilizados monstros com ataque mágico, os ataques de meu oponente seriam do tipo físico, fazendo com que o principal ponto fraco do Diemonshark fosse eliminado. Além disto, para atacar de outras posições senão a primeira, os monstros teriam que possuir habilidades como Reach, Opportunity ou Sneak, ou possuírem ataque a distância. Com tanto MP disponível não haveriam muitos monstros com ataque Melee e com estas habilidades disponíveis, logo meu oponente provavelmente viria com vários monstros com ataque à distância. Desta forma selecionar o Lir Deepswimmer como Summoner era uma escolha natural devido a suas habilidades Return Fire e Blind.

Uma vez escolhidos o Summoner e o Tanque, para as demais posições busquei colocar o maior poder de ataque possível, com exceção da segunda posição que coloquei o Baakjira com Void, Slow, Strenghten e Heal para segurar possíveis ataques com a habilidade Snipe. Na terceira posição estava o Supply Runner com Swiftness. Na quarta posição coloquei o Axemaster com Double Strike e Close Range. Na quinta posição coloquei o Poseidon com Shield e Blast para proteger minha backline. Na última posição estava a Sea Stalker com Camouflage, Snipe e Cleanse.

Com o Buff Swiftness e o Debuff Slow eu aumentaria a diferença da velocidade de movimento entre a minha equipe e a de meu oponente, dando maior sobrevivência ao meu tanque. Caso os inimigos com ataque à distância atingissem meus aliados, receberiam parte do dano de volta com o Return Fire. Os demais monstros contavam com alto poder de ataque, com o objetivo de eliminar o tanque inimigo o mais rápido possível.

Uma vez montada a equipe era torcer que meu oponente não abusasse de monstros melee e pra minha sorte isto não aconteceu.

A batalha

O meu oponente veio com a Summoner General Sloan e o tanque Uriel the Purifier, com Flying, Recharge e Heal. Na segunda posição ele contava com o Sand Worm com Sneak e Snare. Meu oponente buscava manter o seu tanque vivo o maior tempo possível utilizando o Tank Heal combinado com a habilidade Heal. Caso eu não protegesse minha backline eu estaria em apuros com o Sandworm e havia bastante ataque a distância para meu tanque lidar.

No primeiro round meu Sea Stalker eliminou o Supply Runner inimigo. O Uriel perdeu todo o seu Shield e chegou a ficar com 04 de HP, mas a cura dupla fez ele recuperar todo o dano.

No segundo round o Pelacor Arbalest foi eliminado pelo meu Sea Stalker. O Diemonshark eliminou o Uriel, ativando o Trample e atacando o Sandworm.

No terceiro round meu Supply Runner eliminou o Sandworm. Depois o Diemonshark eliminou a Venari Crystalsmith, ativando Trample e eliminando a Prismologist na sequência.

O Diemonshark cumpriu com o seu objetivo na partida, segurando a minha linha de frente, e ainda conseguiu eliminar 03 monstros inimigos.
