Pelacor Arbalest Challenge.png

Introduction

Another weekly challenge released (Splinterlands, 2022), this time about a card from the Chaos Legion Set and the Life Splinter, the Pelacor Arbalest:

Pelacor Arbalest Lvl 08

  • Double Strike: Attack twice in each round.
  • Flying: Has an increased chance to dodge attacks coming from enemies that don't have this ability.

The Pelacor Arbalest was a great addition to the Life Splinter, even more so with the implementation of General Sloan as a Summoner. In the low leagues his appearance has been frequent and it is not for less, as he attacks twice per turn, the +01 ranged attack bonus that Sloan gives increases each of his attacks, unlike what happens for monsters with higher attack power, which in addition to increasing only one attack can be subject to having their damage reduced by the Forcefield skill. But not everything is a bed of roses, the Pelacor Arbalest has low movement speed and only acquires the Flying skill from level 06. Below I present a battle with its participation.

The strategy before the battle

The game had the Equalizer and Spreading Fury rules, 28 MP available, and had only Life and Dragon Splinters available. With Spreading Fury active, I tried to invest in increasing the movement speed of my allies and reducing that of my enemies, as done in Greengineer (2022-a).

For the debuff of my enemies I selected Summoner Quix Devious and with the Swiftness buff I put Baby Unicorn in second position, Spirit Miner in third position and Supply Runner in fifth position. As Equalizer was active I selected Chaos Agent as a tank with Dodge and Phase abilities. To protect my backline I put the Naga Assassin in the last position with its high speed and to increase the attack power I chose the Pelacor Arbalest for the fourth position.

My goal was that both the first position and the positions that would receive Sneak and Snipe's attacks had monsters with high speed, which when activating Enrage were almost invulnerable. My possible weak point would be if my opponent used a Byzantine Kitty, but that didn't happen:

The battle

My opponent came with the Summoner Tyrus Palladium, using the Gargoya Scrapper as a tank with Void. In second position he had the Silvershield Knight with Inspire and Piercing. With Sneak he had the Silvershield Assassin in the third position, the Feral Spirit in the fourth position, the Elven Cutthroat in the fifth position and the Uraeus in the last position.

He had high attack power and sought to destroy my backline, but would his movement speed match mine?

In the first round, Pelacor Arbalest eliminated the Gargoya Scrapper and removed the Sivershield Knight's shield. Of the 05 attacks that tried to hit the Naga Assassin, only one of the Silvershield Assassin was successful, but it ended up activating Enrage increasing my monster's movement speed to 14. The Silvershield Knight also managed to hit my tank, but ended up increasing its movement speed to 11.

In the second round the Supply Runner eliminated the Silvershield Knight. None of my enemies managed to land an attack this turn.

In the third round the Naga Assassin assassinated the Silvershield Assassin, the Spirit Miner took the Feral Spirit to the beyond and the Pelacor Arbalest took the Elven Cutthroat out of the match. The only opponent left on the battlefield, the Uraeus, missed the attack.

In the fourth round, the Supply Runner eliminated Uraeus, ending the game.

Arbalest 04-2 Round.png

Pelacor Arbalest had a good performance in the match eliminating 02 enemies. His allies covered his main weak point which is his low movement speed, making him not miss any attacks, even against monsters that activated Enrage.

I hope you enjoyed the game, to follow it in detail, just click on Greengineer (2022-b).

A batalha

No primeiro round o Pelacor Arbalest eliminou o Gargoya Scrapper e retirou o escudo do Sivershield Knight.

Arbalest 02 Round.png

No segundo round o Supply Runner eliminou o Silvershield Knight.

Arbalest 04 Round.png

No quarto round o Supply Runner eliminou o Uraeus, finalizando o jogo.

Arbalest 04-2 Round.png
