Hi everyone! As I planned, I went this morning to make a small donation for the Ukrainian refugees in a collecting point in my town. Refugees keep coming to Romania and people here try to make their best to help, which is very touching.
When I went today to the supermarket, I could identify several people at the canned food products shelves trying to see what would fit better for the refugees coming.
These are the products that I managed to buy and hopefully, the collecting point wasn't that far and I could carry them.
I am a skinny person, so I don't have much force, but finally, I made it.
On top of the food, I have also put some toys I had and thought to be useful to kids. On these points, you could only donate packed food products, clean clothes/ blankets/ duvets, and toys that still function.
Here is the tent that is installed for a week and one can visit daily between 9:00-15:00. There are also other collecting points in town.
I am also glad that I spoke with my sister who lives in another city even closer to the border than mine and who managed with other relatives to lodge some Ukrainian families after picking them up from the border.
I have also watched some videos with refugees at the Romanian borders. Lots of ordinary people were there to help. It was very touching...I have literally cried with those people who left behind their loved ones and took with them a couple of bags. They were expected with food and compassion. Many people in the south of the country are also open to receiving Ukrainian people in their homes.
Hope that things will be peaceful soon and Ukrainian people can smile again. So, @StayWithUkraine
