Jennifer,a 400 level student in Coast University,Coast Town.
She lost her parents when she was in 100 level and ever since then everything became difficult for her and her siblings. So after the death of her parents, life became hard for them.but thankfully her dad left behind a provision store for them before his death, so from there, she paid her younger siblings’ school fees and also half of hers too.
After their death, the church took the responsibility of paying half of her school fees since she had already gotten admission to the university.
“Jennifer!Jennifer!!”Grace,her roommate, called out to her but she was already lost in her thoughts.
“Jennifer” she called again tapping her on her shoulder, that was when she snapped out of her thoughts.
“The Anatomy Lecturer is looking for you,” she added.
“Why?”Jennifer replied
“I don’t know,”Grace said, already leaving the room.
Immediately Jennifer began to look for something to wear to go see the lecturer.
When she came to his office she noticed the door was slightly opened,then she proceeded to knock on it.
“Knock knock” she said
“Come in ,the door is open”,the man replied from inside the office.
Jennifer then opened the door slowly and let herself in but still holding the door she said
“You asked for me”
Then the lecturer looked up and saw her immediately closed the book he was reading and dropped it on the table
“Yes my dear Jennifer”he said with his eyes full of joy
“Come in,” he quickly added.
Jennifer then went to the door side and sat on the chair.
Mr Anatomy,so they called him,then stood up and walked slowly to Jennifer’s side and sat on the table close to her.
“You see my dear,I’ve been noticing you for a long time in this school and I’ve seen that you’re a very descent and intelligent lady,so I want to take care of you,you’ll not lack anything in this school.I’ll pay for everything you’ll need starting from today if you’ll accept to be my girl.You don’t even need to pay your school fees or buy anything including your handouts and foodstuffs I’ll do all that for you.”
Jennifer immediately stood up and walked quickly to the door
“Sir”she said
“I’m a child of God and I can’t indulge myself in such a dirty and sinful acts”
Then the lecturer stood up from where he was sitting and went back to his chair
“You don’t have to be quick in giving me an answer,you can go and think about it and give an answer tomorrow.
Jennifer quickly left the office and headed straight to her hostel.
On her way she kept remembering the words of the lecturer, and the thought that this could be a life changing offer for her.
“If I accept him,I wouldn’t need to share the little income we get from the store with my siblings again and I’ll have all the good things I needed both in school and at home.”she said to herself
Then she went to her hostel,sat on her bed and kept thinking about the whole thing and she said
“My God is able to see me through and supply all my needs”
Then she lied down and slept.
The next day,after getting ready for class she told her roommate that she’s going somewhere and she won’t follow her to class that morning.
Then she headed straight to the anatomy lecturer’s office.
When she came ,she knocked and went in.
“Good morning sir”she said with her face facing down.
“Have you thought about my offer”the man said
“Yes sir,and I have an answer for you”
The man stood up came closer to her and said
“ okay I’m listening”
“Sir,I know we might be poor and things aren’t working out the way we want now but I believe with time everything will be better,and I can’t use my present situation to sin against my God.I’m sorry sir but I can’t do what you’re asking me to do”
Immediately she finished what she was saying she stood up to walk away,then the man called her
“Jennifer!,You know I’ve actually heard a lot about you but I don’t know that you’re this religious.I’m not actually after you,I just wanted to test you and see.I’m also a pastor and a husband with two lovely children and I love my family so much.I’ve never cheated on my wife before and I don’t plan on starting now or anytime.I and the church are looking for orphans to help and I decided I want to help you and your siblings,so from today henceforth you don’t have anything to worry about. As God gives us so we will give also to those in need.you can go back to your hostel and write the list of all you need and that of your siblings too and I’ll take it to the church and see what we can do about it”
Immediately she left the office she was filled with joy and happiness and called her siblings to share the good news with them.
It really pays to trust in God.
