Hola!
It's Sunday here, the 5th already, whew! Slow down, January, will you?😅 But yeah, I'm thankful to wake up to a brand new day.
We went for a wee stroll in the St. Catherine's School and St. Catherine of Siena Parish Church grounds on New Year's Eve. It was my brother's idea since he knew more of the ins and outs of Bambang than any of us. We thought a concert was going on upon hearing the loud holiday tunes from the school compound, turned out they were playing recorded music.
We were yet to enter the gates and were welcomed by many Christmas trees in different shapes and forms, mostly made from upcycled materials (Kugon grass, palm leaves, plastic bottles, car tires, and such).
Real trees were spared because they made use of available resources. I think they are pretty creative with what they did.
These are some of the pictures taken inside the campus. I didn't check whose statue this was but it stood prominently in the middle.
There were a few people which is nice. At least it is not crowded or noisy. The decorations are simple yet nice. The colored lights and such added aesthetic appeal to the place.
There was even a Christmas tree containing greetings from a family. This made me think the other trees outside the gates were by other families too except there were no notes on them.
We noticed the paintings on the wall, depicting the life of Jose Rizal. Two sculptures covered some parts of the artwork but at least they are still viewable.
We took a few more shots of the decorations and flowers.
And then we moved to the Parish grounds. Perhaps the locals had been there during the earlier days of the season because the place looked almost empty.
It had various Christmas decorations. Even the statue columns (pedestals) had holiday lights around them.
There were holiday light tunnels along the pathways/walkways. The hubby took this shot as I walked under one of them.
We exited the place and walked through the school gate where we took this photo of two warriors who seemed to be doing a ritual or something.
From there, we proceeded to where we parked and drove to the hotel soon after. Checking the timestamps, we spent about 40 minutes there. We enjoyed the stroll for sure!
