This weekend, I take the long way home and stay there!

Last Weekend

Last weekend the tulips stole the show if comments are any indication. These beauties have lived outside my front door longer than I have owned the house and bloom vibrantly and early every year.

This weekend presented had its share of blooms as well with a little rain for them to drink up.

Downtown

Before the rain, the Friday evening started out so nice. Raja Stratford had just finished planting their patio flowers and the late afternoon sky was a mild blue.



Before heading home to lean into the weekend, I stopped in to the local music club that was gearing up for an evening of local music. The Bunker Performance Lounge & Cafe is the perfect little 30 seat venue with professional equipment and an inclusive live music passion. Should be some great @town-crier stories to catch up on with local businesses when I can hire a sales or social media specialist.

Home Again

I was thinking about how I have so many weekend event options I could attend because they are held by clients, I have helped promote, or I know the people involved. Sometimes, I just want to park the car and be at home with family and property to attend to. The garden and tomatopalooza we have started is such a great excuse to kick off your shoes, help something grow, and enjoy some time outdoors. Dog Wars

An essential part of a perfect weekend is spent in the dog park where this little guy has the time of his life, every visit. The rain didn't slow him down one bit and I am not sure if he is wet from it or the grass he pounces through. Despite running along muddy trails, the long grass almost takes it off like a car wash when he is diving through it.



The rain is not even a hindrance for spending time outside as it is light and follows a couple dry days. Damp feet are worth it when you can see the rain feed the fresh spring growth.



It didn't take long for the clouds to clear and the sun to return before the weekend was over. Warm sunny days trading off with mild rainy ones sure are great for speeding the lush growth of the outdoor spaces up here. Plenty of surface water but the grass is coming along nicely so that mud is fighting a losing battle. I will miss days like these in a couple short weeks when the mosquitos take over. Perfection in late spring.

Beer!

Of course there was beer on the weekend. This one came as part of yet another mix pack from one of my favourite breweries. You know there has to be some IPAs in there for me to pick one with a Pink Lemonade Sour in it but you may have to tune into my next #beersaturday post to catch more on this one.




The sun has gone down on another fantastic weekend filled with epic experiences. Not really that epic until you savor the wonderful afternoon naps that happened each day along the ride!
