Today HELIOS Delegators received their first airdrop, for the most part it was a successful launch, delegators received the most coins possible for delegating before the launch since the price was calculated at <.005 HIVE. However... everything didn't "Go Without A Hitch!" There was one small hiccup if left unattended, could have grown into a big problem. Luckily the problem we found was isolated to the dev account, which is only supposed to receive a 5% developer reward, instead the @helios.dev account received over 25,000 tokens!
The mistake (highlighted in red above) was made on the developers end, so all the extra tokens were promptly sent back to @helios.rewards, and all minting will remain paused until these extra tokens are distributed correctly. It was a close call, but everything's fixed now!
What happened?
The reason for this dev fund distribution error was due to a tiny math error in %. Fortunately we located the error and corrected it. Everything with the distribution should be going exactly according to plan, as of the time of this writing. We will still be monitoring the situation, and double checking the distribution tomorrow.
We want to be upfront & 100% transparent with this issue, because problems like this, even after being fixed, can be detrimental to a project. It was a good thing that we found this error right away, especially before holder rewards were sent. So to sum things up, today was a very lucky, and unlucky launch for HELIOS! Lucky we found the problem and fixed it so easily, but unlucky it wasn't a perfect launch that went off without a hitch. We're just relieved the error was caught early, and in the end HELIOS distribution is working well & according to plan. So all in all, we think that the HELIOS launch was a success after all, and we look forward to more successes to come!
