#ThougfulDailyPost - Do what you Say & Take Command

Zekethoughts.jpg

Time to unpack a couple thoughtful sentiments from the internet! @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulposts as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please consider delegating if you are the thoughtful type and want to encourage people to share their positivity.

I present a couple thoughtful posts that caught my attention, made me think a little, and motivated me to share with the world for #thoughtfuldailypost. Plus a little bonus music to match each.

Do what you said you would do

Scott D Clary is an entrepreneur, investor and creator which is right up my alley. Apparently, over a million people a month tune in to his conversations on business, entrepreneurship, mindset and wealth so he must have something worth listening to!

It seems I have been waxing on recently about how rare it is these days that people do what they say they are going to do. Whether it is worrying about the latest generation and state of the world with @tarazkp or wondering if we are becoming grumpy old shits with @ericvancewalton. Funny timing on this quote and maybe my algorithm has me figured out.

Some of the things our vintage had drummed into us as the absolute basics of success seem not to be as common these days. I like to tell myself that when I say that I am going to do something, I generally do that thing. Why say something you are not going to do? Why not be dependable and trustworthy and do what you say you are going to do? Not always easy but at least it should stop you from saying shit you don't mean when people hold you to your word!

Now success is fleeting and illusive for most. Is it because life is tough or we make it tough on ourselves to succeed by complicating the playbook with ego or laziness? I am all for Scott's sentiment here and like to keep it simple.

Do what you say you are going to do and don't say it if you are not going to do it. The playbook is indeed not that much more complex!

The closest I can get to the author of this great quote is author Trevor Graeber and artist Alizabeth Graeber and their 125 page inspirational paperback you can find on Amazon. Perhaps they should join us on Hive with their own accounts and share some #thoughtfuldailyposts

Pretty dramatic to imagine our minds as a battlefield. Sure there are plenty of conflicting thoughts and contradictions but a battlefield? Sometimes mine won't leave me alone as the battle is not yet won so maybe.

I find myself wondering why some people get jerked around by their emotions and are just helpless passengers while their impulses and trauma hold the wheel. Sure denying emotions and impulses can lead to much larger problems but they should be the distant early warnings that get fed to our intellect and wisdom to solve logically and intelligently. Not the case all the time.

Our mind is definitely a tool we possess, perhaps among out most powerful ones. It does take some thoughtfulness and uncomfortable effort to command that tool, or the battlefield as it were. Effort and discomfort get you places and the peace of a victory on that battlefield seems like a good place to be.

Here is a blast from the past with Pat Benatar. Maybe it is love that turns our minds into the battlefield.

Considering our problems, happiness and how we are spending our lives can only lead to positive changes. If being thoughtful is up your alley, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.

Ready to do what you say and take command?

Sort:

That tweet by Scott D. Clary is so true and I can relate with it even though I'm not aware about who he is 😅.

Same here.

When I collect and contemplate these quotes, I also usually have never heard of the author and like discovering another mind on the internet.

Well, it’s not really easy to stay consistent it once you’re determined to be consistent and you get it, your life gets better because consistency brings you closer to your dreams everyday

I completely agree with the importance of doing what you say. It’s all about trust and integrity. It’s hard to find people who genuinely keep their word these days.

Absolutely. On the flipside, the scarcity of this trait makes it more valuable!

You're absolutely right on that good friend 👌

Pump up the jams!

consistency is the word

Something to be said about the tag team champions discipline and consistency!

You know, I don't mean to sound like an old fuck fart and complain about "youngsters these days," but it does seem like "determination" is a feature that is lost these days.

Maybe not lost but definitely in shorter supply. Perhaps the brain is evolving from wondering and thinking things through to just searching and superficially collecting info. Certainly doesn’t train the brain to be determined and disciplined.
