For this #threetunetuesday I decided to post three tunes about the State I call home.
The first tune is the earliest song I can recall ever hearing and singing that mentioned Carolina.
Now mind you this is song my parents would sing to each other on a fine morning when all was well.
Yea the @handofzara is getting up there in age but truly nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning. True then and true to this day and now that Spring has arrived I am greeted by the sounds of Cardinals joining the morning chorus.
This next song I truly enjoy because it is song by one of my favorite singer-song writers Keith Whitley. Although Keith was a Kentucky Boy, this song reminds me of how many folks leave the Bluegrass State and how many people are left behind. The irony is that no matter how many Kentuckians I meet, even though they often could not wait to leave, Kentucky is always home. And there is always someone who was left behind.
Now this last song is the North Carolina Song of all time, in my humble opinion. The song of being far away and yet if you close your eyes, and think hard enough, you can see that blue sky and smell the jasmines in the air.
There can be nothing finer than a little JT to close out a long day.
I hope you enjoy these three songs about my Home, North Carolina.
