When in Geneva, you cannot miss visiting the Geneva Lake. It kind of follows you everywhere in that place and so there is no chance that you will miss it. It is one of the largest lakes in western Europe with a length of 73 kms and stretches out even outside of Geneva. I visited Montreux which is around 45 mins away from Geneva by train and over there also Lake Geneva stretched. I had visited Geneva last in the year of 1999. that's like a long long time ago, but had some memories of it. In those days there were no mobile phones so we never clicked the amount of pictures' we do now. I still have hard copies of those pictures, a few of them. It was nostalgic visiting this place once again.
We spent the day visiting some of the sites in Geneva and then ended our day at the Lake with some nice cozy moments. At one point there was a Rainbow in the fountain at the Lake. Looked very beautiful
This picture I clicked during the day when we visited one of the Cathedral and from the roof top we got this view of the Lake
The views around were pleasant
On our way we spotted this game of chess that people were playing. I find these things amusing as we never get to see such things in my Country. It is interesting
This was opposite the Lake where there is a small park
This Hotel brough back many memories. In 1999 when we had visited we had stayed in this Hotel. It is one of the best hotels in Geneva and directly facing the lake. This time we had to book a hotel near to the Airport as hubby's work was in that area.
We parked ourselves at one of the Lake side Restaurants and then a glass of wine with Cheese Fondue. I wanted to have it once on this trip and made it here.
It was a long day, since morning we were out and by this time very exhausted. From here went straight to our hotel and then crashed into my bed.
Hope you all enjoyed these pictures. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
