A little recap

in #travel2 years ago

Browsing my feed, I stumbled upon a nice tool made by hivecreators, that creates a cool recap of how was you 2022, Hive blockchain wise; so decided to take a look back on how did this year went, online and offline.

You can find that cool tool here; just place your name in and...

...Voilá!

114 posts, 1007 replies (I'm guessing this includes all comments); so these are the numbers to beat this year! Without surprise, my two favourite communities are where the posts are produced more often; wildlife and travels, what else? 😁

Speaking on wildlife and travelling...

2022 was finally the year I restarted travelling abroad! Hoping it become the norm again, and the restrictions nonsense stays in the past. Nevertheless, my country still has a ton of hidden gems to discover, and travelling inside was how I started my travels journey this year, visiting Lousã, in centre Portugal,

and discovering a ton of hiking trails filled with green tones and small waterfalls.

It was also the year where I revisited Doñana, in the neighbouring country Spain; and incredible nacional park, home of the iberian Lynx, the most endangered feline species on the planet (or so it was, not that long ago).

I'm yet to see them in their natural habitat, but watching a male deer cross in the distance, or seeing kites fly by, are enough to consider myself lucky to be able to enjoy these shows.

It was in September though, that I've finally visited a new country, and one I was longing to see for quite a few years. Especially because of landscapes like this:

Plitvice, one of Cratia's jewels, was one of the travels on my bucket list. A looonng overdue post is in need for sure, but I know none of the photos I took does due justice to this wonder. Yes, fot the city lovers out there, Dubrovnik is also a mandatory trip; but Plitvice is magical!

The best way to end this vacations period? Flying to Amsterdam and finally adding some faces to the names; Hivefest was an amazing experience, and one I definitely want to repeat!

I though the travels were closed for the year, after Croatia and Amsterdam. But with a few vacations days left, a quick brainstorm and... visiting a new country it was, soaking some sun and escaping the cold in Cabo verde!

4 countries, two of them for the first time; could definitely get used to this!

On to try and make the most from 2023! And for starters...

This was where I had dinner last night; a perfectly normal restaurant, but very special for me: once a year, around Christmas time, my group of friends from my first college gets together here, for an awesome dinner; lots of laughs, and memories.

This goes on (apart from pandemic years)... for 25 years! What would life be without friends, right? 😉

Cool recap - Hive and 2022. Its great that travel is open again. We have a lot of local travel to do first in 2023. Since we moved, there are lots of things near Vermont we want to see.

Sometimes we forget our own country, but probably most of it is still yet to be explored! :)

Wow, you got to see and experience a lot last year! Hopefully this year will be at least equally exciting and adventurous for you :) Cheers!

I definitely can't complain; wishing you a year full of travels as well! Cheers! !BEER
