This is a relief sculpture with paperclay on cardboard - it's a vine with leaves and pods that will be alter printed with acrylic.
Here's the original drawing which I did not really like. But the idea is that in Nature, everything has a place to lay it's head, to be born into, to grow up and receive it's necessary nutrients, so that it can thrive. In this case, this is a seed pod - and each seed has a lair within the pod. It includes the sigil. and then on the vine are leaves and other pods. The vine is the mother of the seeds, but it is also the child...
I created 15" circles that slightly overlap. Then I took a piece of wire and taped it to the cardboard. BFF is an electrician so wire is plentiful.
I covered the wire in paper clay.
The whole piece is aproximately 15" x 28"
