Life and Then.

The little blessing we miss.

The Hive Name.png
I had to re start this story. It's impossible to write this without a narrator. Not everything will be in the exact order. I didn't keep notes.

I have a new story. The best thing about this story is.
It's true.
Half of the rewards for this post and any others that follow along this story will be sent to @rocco-maloney.
I am writing with this account because this account will gain more rewards than other accounts I hold. Rocco will gain half of the rewards. Rocco's account was made a couple of years ago. Young lad giving me a bit if lip outside the shop. I turned the conversation to Hive and he said to get him an account. Gave me his name and the account got made. I kept it going for while. When after months he had not come back to me about it, I could not remember the face to the name.

As it turns out. Rocco is my my little helpers brother.

Mostly unnoticed although people knew he was not the young lad who was filling the shelves prior. They also seen him as at times they would walk around him. Interactions were brief consisting of. Do you have eggs? Do you have sugar. general requests for stock items. Never a conversation about the weather. The day passed quickly as he tried to develop a dream. The end of his day he would return home uphill against the cold winter wind and labour around Hive.

Once upon a Tommys.Shop. Walking from the 40 foot container storage with two tray of cola in hand. Cola was on special and this journey would be made a few times today. This passed the time for the old fella. It also helped focus his thoughts. The automation process of make a list go collect items, was easy enough a task. He had time to focus on his daydreams. Daily walking carrying helping where he could. More meditation than a chore. While he done labour he would daydream and escape the world.

Days weeks month's went by. No one really paid much attention to the old fella. He was never asked to do anything. He just done what he seen needed doing. Every day was pretty much the same as others gone past. Look around see what needs most attention. Do that. On one of those days a then happened.

Young. "Can you help me?"

Old. Looking up the old fella seen a young girl standing before him. "Yes, sure," he replied "What can I do?"

Young. "Can you get me a can of Red Bull?"

Old. "No I am not getting you a can of Red bull." "How old are you?"

Young. "Its for my mam."

Old. "Tell mom she has to come around and get it herself."

From across the floor. "Tom Tom" Kiera was shouting for the old fellas attention.

Note. If anyone is ever translating this text into Wisconsinese. Please use Jan to replace the name Tom.

Tom. "Well okay if you say so."

Off the young girl went to give mom the red bull who was outside in the car. That was the very first interaction he had with the girl. A few days later. The young girl was back in the shop. She stopped Tom and asked him if he knew how old she was. He took a silly guess and said 12.

Young. "No I'mmmmm Six." "Guess what class I am going in to?"

For the life of him Tom couldn't remember what class she said. I have no idea of what age group goes to what class. I was totally caught off guard too. That was easy to get around. This was a kid though. He had no clue what to say or do. So he stood there and took silly guesses to questions. Then more kids came and they all began asking the same questions. Age and what class. Head melt.

Everyone was going back to school in a couple of days.

The young girl visited the shop daily. It was a corner shop and she lived close by. It could be something for the house or a return trip to get a snack or drink. Sometimes asking for help, sometimes just skipping on by, (not with a rope). Sometimes stopping just a hello and gone again. I could not possibly know the answer too. Does he know dads name. No. Moms name No. Brothers name. any of the brothers name. Where they live. All answered with a no. Unknowing anything else he could say. This little thing had him trapped in a conversation he had no control over or how it was supposed to go.

He could feel his fingers scratching the inside of his head trying to figure out how to talk to this kid. This is harder than talking about crptocurrency blockchain and usage. He was clueless here. Then he got saved. From across the room a voice came above the radio. "Rea, Rea, Sausage Rolls are ready." Paula who worked the dele counter voiced across. "Gotta go see ya".

Spring day.
Standing at the front of the store a cup of tea in hand. The young one appeared out from inside the shop. Along side was a posse of 4.

Tom. Oh. You have a gang with you.
Rea. That's not a hang. he's me brother, he's me brother, he's me brother and he's me boyfriend. Well not me boyfriend, he just got me a valentines card.

Tom. Oh I see, that's cool.

Then came the onslaughts of a thousand voices all at once. I'm Her brother. I'm her older brother. I'm younger. Tom figured he would just go by older is taller. With that away all 5 went.
