Twitter has gone pay to play.
Looking at recent trends on twitter it seems that elon is building a two tier social media platform. He is putting huge emphasis on having a premium account and if you don't then you are at a severe disadvantage.
He has also enabled a feature where only premium users can reply to another premium user. Not very free speech of him after all of the talk.
I had no interest in buying a premium account originally but things changed.
Since they put a 40% discount on premium for black Friday I did a thing and bought premium plus for a full year. The goal is to try and get it monetized which i wrote about at the time here.
Signed up to X premium plus for a year.
You can see where my numbers completely dropped off the radar when Elon tweaked the algorithm after March.
I also set myself some targets to hit by the end of year as well.
Targets.
- 1M impressions per month.
- From 7.5K to 20K followers.
Big goals but very achievable in a bull market if thing are moving on Hive.
After two months of premium the numbers speak for themselves.
Follows are growing every day and impressions are up 5000% over three months. Taking it with a bit of perspective I have upped my game slightly in terms of tweets and replies also helped by Hive having a couple of big pumps in this period as well.
That get the numbers moving a bit easier.
Still a long way to go from where i would like to be but I have learned a bit since starting. If you want to grow your account you need to be sucking up to the bigger accounts. The platform is designed to reward the biggest users so that is how you gain impressions.
Reply to the big guys and hit it early to move up the conversation.
My own posts are lucky to get 1K impressions even with 50 likes and 20 retweets but one good comment on a big account can net you 20k impressions without getting any engagement.
Hardly fair on smaller users but that's how the game works. Never mind users without that blue checkmark who don't really stand a chance.
Either way it can only help hive in the long run if we can build up multiple accounts to bigger levels and be seen by a lot more people. That's where the crypto community is like it or not so that's where we need to create a big presence.
