Saving costs while planning a party

Where I come from, party time is show-off time, even people who cannot afford to eat properly in their homes will go out of their way to host a party and even get into debt for it, some do it to cover their faces while others do it as a show of pride.

Special occasions every way could cause some harm to the pockets, as they come with lots of financial obligations like parties, gifts to share, and even decorations, and for anyone trying to stick to a budget, all this spending could be above their budget.

Now, one could be torn between two walls, because when you excessively focus on money, it could mean you may never get to celebrate good times and on the other hand, if you choose to host the party that suits your mind, you may also be unable to afford important expenses for the rest of the year, resulting even in future debt situations. But, just like several other situations, there is a way one could go about it.

The first thing is to have a realistic budget and have it planned. Certainly, it is unlikely not to know when a special occasion is going to happen as they happen all the time every year. Speaking of Christmas celebrations, birthdays, and valentines amongst others, since we know about these events we are allowed to prepare for them in advance.

While you set your next budget, add a section for special occasions, and to do this you need to know ahead the amount you will most likely spend and begin to prepare for it. With a good budget in place, you are going to give yourself enough time to save up for the purpose.

Now that we are speaking about planning for special occasions, I am sure you do not consider partying hard every Friday as a necessary occasion because it sure isn't one. Going to the club every Friday and spending very hard for that purpose is surely not necessary and will put a dent in your finances, especially when you are not financially capable enough to afford such a lifestyle.

For the important occasion, you do not necessarily have to buy everything new, you can make use of the ones for a previous event. That you have used it once doesn't make it stale or old fashioned, so to save cost, you could use them again.

Shopping at discounted stores/rates is also important. We all know that store that offers quality for a discounted rate, you could get gifts from there rather than buying several gifts for one person, you can simply buy one very special gift.

A major thing that people spend during party is food, you want to satisfy the taste buds of your guests so you make a variety of food, in a case where you are concerned about your finances and you still want to host a party, you should prepare just one type of food in a good way for the enjoyment and satisfaction of your guest.

Before buying anything for that party, you need to consistently ask yourself, how viable the item is for the party you want to host. If the item is not important, you need to do away with it and only get it if important.

In my part of the world, people do parties to show off, they wanna tell others that they've made it big, as you've said in this great post spending with consciousness is very important.
