Hello Hivers πŸ’•πŸ’˜,

In west African Nigeria there is one peculiar thing that is special to the different town or state that makes every one visit for tourist and for educative purposes. Take for instance in Nigeria we have a lot of tourist attractions which is also used as a means of development to the town or state. We have the Ikogosi cold and warm spring, in Ekiti state. This is where we have the spring cold and warm in different section but on the same spring where they join together at junction. So people come from all over the world to visit this place and it is also beautified by a lot of attractive stones and decoration. This is not the only tourist attractive places or center. We also have the likes of ORANMIYAN STATUE. This is a very significant statue that is being recognized throughout the world although millions of people may not even hear the name before but it is recognized. And there is also one reason why it is being recognized and the reason being that they have their own ceremonial day. The celebrate this once in a year and people come all over the world from Germany Brazil Cuba and all parts of the world visit the place and join them in celebrating this particular day. It is also located in osun State Nigeria, Ile ife to be precise. In Ile ife as well we have the Moremi statue which is one of the tallest statue in West Africa.

On this particular day I visited the town where the statue was erected. I got to the front view as it is shown in the pictures. It took me a while before I was allowed to entered because there was no official written notes whatsoever. So I took out my identity cards and I also mention some few places in ile-ife because I finished my primary school secondary school in the same town. So I summoned the courage to visit the particular location. And the location is along Iremo in ile-ife. After my identity was double checked I was allowed to entered with my mobile phone and also my camera alone, which I was also double checked by their security men.

When I was given the permission to move around the place because it's a very fenced big compound. To my right I saw so many young ladies of 6 to age 15, all in white dancing to some particular song. Although I was not permitted to take their pictures because of some security reasons. After I got some conversations with them and they told me that they are all little virgin. I was scared at some point because I was not in a white garment or clothes but I was also assured that there is nothing to fear about because they are all some spiritual cleansing for a program. Then I began to take some pictures of what I saw about the particular place.

  • This is the main gate to the MOREMI STATUE with a lot of beautifications at the entrance with the lettering. It is well secured with a lot of armed men because of thogs.

  • These are some of the boys that lead me from one place to another although I got them tipped. When I waited for them to come because I did not know anywhere. The had to lead first then I followed.

I took a lot of pictures and it was a lovely visit because I was even permitted to touch the statue. A lot of discussion was made because I also met an elderly person who narrated a lot of stories which this woman called MOREMI had fought for the ancient Town called Ile-Ife.

  • The excitement on my face was 100% because no one was allowed to enter this particular environment unless you have a cogent reason with written notes or letter βœ‰οΈπŸ’Œ. And also they were also preparing for an event which made them in a very huge preparation mode. These are some of the apartment that was built for people to live. And I was also showed a lot of artworks.

This are some of the artworks that was made to remember what warrior the woman was. She fought for this town with her whole life living the town free from their enemies.

The kind of environment which I met was extremely attractive and clean for visitors to come as tourist. Although one after the other I tipped the small boys in the pictures and a lot of elderly men and women that was sighted.

A lot of artworks was on the walls of each apartment which also signifies a lot of meaning. You can see those small boys on camera. They were extremely happy being with a visitor. I also made a lot of conversations with them in Yoruba language to carry them along with what they know about this particular place.

  • With what they said, I was told that during the weekends sometimes it is all about tourist. People line up to visit the Statue and to take a lot of pictures within and without. Likewise there is always a gate fee before you are allowed to enter. They also told me that twice in a week is for some particular prayer rites that will be done to the statue.

They also told me that the color of the walls and the houses are representative of some significant symbols which has a lot of meaning so the ancient warrior Moremi Ajasoro.

When I moved closer to the big statue now I noticed that it was not ordinarily a very tall one but also has a Big casted statue.

My visit to the town was not a short one because I was moving from one place to another seeing a lot of pictures and casted walls.
